Out of all the people I unignored after the grandfinal you are the one I regret most. Stop being a negative campaigner ok Mopsy.

You cannot even get your facts straight to match your stupid argument. Likely we pick Miller at 55 anyway if we had it. Your saying you wouldn't pick Naish with 53? A father son ranked top 20 by a lot of people? That's basically what it cost us and not 34 like you think.
Yep thats exactly what im saying id rather we had pick 53 and 55 than taking Naish.
Sorry if the fact i dont rate him offends everyone.Would rather we gave someone else a go than take a kid i dont think will make it and fits the least of our needs.

Can't argue with that... this time next year you will still be able to possibly argue this, and we might have to wait 2-3 years to see if he becomes regular 22.

He has 2 brothers as well.
Does anyone know anything about them?
The next one is a cross between Ben Cousins and Chris Judd and the youngest a Ablett jnr clone according to my source.

Well considering your track record I think it’s great pick... not to mention another clubs recruitment staff rated him well before pick 53.

Also a list is never built in a single draft. Last year we got Graham who is a potential to be an amazing inside mid to go with Prestia and Caddy, as well as growth of CEllis and Higgins who might be small but has proven to be a good inside mid at TAC Cup level. Balta also has potential to be a mid, hence most recruiters said he is a true 18 position player.

The brilliant thing is next year there is a whole new draft with highly rated talls, which means there is high chance mids will slip. Lucky we took them this year when the kids were rated higher.

You dont think we could use more outside class? Geez disagree with this.

People often say pick best available early then draft for needs late, but it's risky trying to be too clever with pick 53 in a weak draft. We know the saints rated him higher and I reckon most clubs would have put in a bid by pick 53. So clearly clubs rate him higher than you.

I think he might take McIntosh's job as he doesn't really use his height and Naish would provide better run and kicking skills.

let’s not bully blokes with differing opinions

even ones who thought Houli, edwards and grigg were glass half types that wouldn’t stand up in finals and that players like rance and astbury had too many flaws in their game to ever improve and wouldn’t make it

show a bit of maturity
I'm all for different opinions but mopsy said Richmond should have drafted someone else with pick 34 but the tigers never had that pick to begin with. It got activated as part of the bidding process.

If you're going to criticise the club, at least criticise them for things they had control over. To repeat, Richmond didn't originally have pick 34 and couldn't pick amyone there because it wasn't their pick to begin with.

It was either Naish or nothing and the pick changes to pick 53. So we're supposed to pass up on a player that many clubs would rate higher than pick 53? I hate to say this but Richmond doesn't yet have the depth to pass up on the best available. Needs to keep building and assembling talent.

McIntosh doesn't kick to advantage and makes poor choices. There are weaknesses for all players. Anyone in the bottom six is at risk baring injury.

Yeah McIntosh isn't clean with the ball, and given Richmond often plays a rapid direct style of play, gun wingmen would be handy. Naish is a direct running long kicking wingman and suits the teams' game plan.

Some talk the club see him as a Houli replacement. Good offensive player, good user of the ball, good on the outside. Seems about right to me.

Mopsy are you this opinionated in a pub?
The poor kid has been a top 25 pick fancy all year.
If you howled him down in a pub for no apparent reason you would end up with a ******* shiner.
Admit when you **** up like we all do. I do it all the time. You though are a ****en ******

Mate can you please stop sugar coating it and just tell us what you really think of mopsy?

Great news! You have been wrong about just about everything else, so naish is certain to be a 4 time brownlow medalist

More likely .... if the kid's last name was Nixon, Nance, Nevins or anything other than Naish, most wouldn't hold the opinions they do of the young guy.
The appeal is simply the fact he is a 'father-son'.
That’s debatable

If he wasn't a father son he'd have been long gone by pick 34.
As mentioned F/S picks tend to slide because clubs don't waste time and resources on players they've got no chance of having.
Using pick 55 on him is a absolute bargain mopsy is just stubborn in his view that should have gotten even more talls when let's be honest tall players taken that late in the draft are speculative at best and much less likely to make it then a player like Naish who while been small and outside has class and skill level that can be if great benefit.

That’s fair enough. So who would you have picked with who was available at those picks?

What I find offensive is that you make opinions like this without having seen much of the kid. You live in WA. How many times have you gone and seen him play in person? Probably zero. Yet you say you don't rate him. Well FMD, why don't you give the kid a chance of showing what he's got before "rating" him? Others that have watched him in person rate him highly. He had the most metres gained in the Allies game of any player on the ground on GF day. Yet you would prefer what really would've been a speculative pick at pick 53 instead. LMAO. Remember we also got pick 63 with Naish and got Miller. No difference between 55 and 63 at all.

Just give the kid a chance before not rating him.

Of all our draftees Naish is the only one im not happy with.
Just doesnt get enough ball for himself he's more outside than a hard working sheep dog. very few have made it at afl level as outside as he is.
clubs werent talking him down they had genuine concerns.Imo pick 34 is overs we could have targeted another tall with this pick or god forbid another big bodied ball winning mid.

All that aside good luck to him i hope he makes the grade.
Which players would you have got instead of Naish and Miller?
