Mod Notice

The level of vitriol and frankly toxic culture in this thread is getting out of hand. As such, the thread will be monitored actively for posters who drag down the quality of posting for all others, and they will have their access to the thread removed.

Further, reference to TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and its counterpart 'Trumpanzee' or anything similar will no longer be allowed. Much like other tropes of that nature, they serves as a conversational barrier and fall-back point for people to simply sling mud. That's unacceptable.

Thanks.

As I said I'm not engaging with you on your topic. Now just be happy that there weren't any charges/convictions for collusion or that would've been a total mess.
Just to be clear - the guidelines for the investigation was very vague which allowed either side to infer their own narrative (that may or may not have existed), one being this clear investigation into Trump collusion which was embraced by both sides as either an attack or a defense. The investigation ran its path with various convictions and commentary (particularly whether there was activities that could be prosecuted or otherwise). At the conclusion, one base claimed it as victory, the other as rubbish but overall, it neither provided terms for prosecution for one particular narrative nor did it exonerate.

Many are claiming the investigation was a hoax or witchhunt but that really depends on the narrative that they push. Overall, was it a waste of time, no not really, it was about investigating an attack on democratic processes from a foreign entity which was required. The irony is the nation that has been guilty of doing this multiple times over whinges about foreign intervention in their own.

Any further investigations into this (either on the GOP or the DNC) is merely a distraction from a suffering population and will serve no interest to the people outside of rusted on bases that won't change their vote even if their candidate molested half the population.

"Trump campaign was cool with it" Wrong, the FBI never briefed the Trump campaign on Russian actions because they were trying to entrap them all along on the orders of Worst President EVER BARRY O.

Just imagine, not briefing the entity you're currently investigating on the status of said investigation! Outrageous!!

rofl

Don Jr. was meeting with a Russian lawyer, not Putin's personal assistant. An lawyer who was let into the country by Worst President EVER BARRY O, all stinks to high heaven but you love huffing those farts so keep at it.

Russian lawyer had told them she had dirt on Hills. "If its what you say it is I love it".

Even if it was a setup but that doesn't exactly make Jnr's response any less problematic.

About the best commentary on it I've read in here.

I tips me lid to you good sir.

It would just be nice if he did some work, like ‘govern’.

People think the WH staff are lying when they say he turns up in time for lunch, doesn’t read and won’t listen. Watches TV, phoning up Fox luminaries and donors; interested in the ‘optics’, how he came across at the last presser, When he gets bored, he often strolls around the West Wing, walking in on COVID meetings. Thinks he knows everything, so takes over - giving everyone the benefit of his knowledge.

He actually boasts about his aversion to preparation, and the chaos that his dislike of planning produces. Trump thinks science is a church for losers, and that there isn’t any predicament he can’t bully or con his way out of.

The chief of staff is reduced to tears, amidst West Wing disorder and screaming matches. Hence no WH initiated legislative reform. No health policy or Infrastructure plan - just reversing of EPA regulations. Constant campaigning and spin doctoring - ‘the cupboards were bare, the shelves empty’.

Trump and his right wing allies continue to ‘work the ref’. Their incessant focus on creating the false narrative; that the mainstream media is fake, and the enemy of the people.
Very well written.

We've all encountered a-holes like this, and some of us have had the misfortune to work under them. Just a shame that one such prime example found his way to the Oval Office.

System needs some serious tweaks.

I'd be tempted to suggest the US Constitution be amended to prohibit anyone belonging to the Trump family being allowed to run for president (though that of course would be extremely unfair to the Capone, Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese and Lucchese families).

Shouldn't that preclude you from making any further assertions here?
My main 'assertion' is what was reported once the documents were released. Those the stated on TV they had mountains of evidence, etc produced SFA.

The more they continue to divide the nation the worse this is gonna be in the long run.

They follow their political preference like a sports team and the other side is their biggest rival who they hate with a passion

This new barrage in particular is going to lead to violence in some capacity. There's too many guns, too many nutjobs going stir crazy because of current world issues.

Yep the cracks have been visible for a long time now - this current environment is fuel for the fire. Said it before, Rome is burning at an alarming rate and the population are not yet wise to acknowledge they have been further down the power rankings for some time now.

That's where the talking heads did their talking. Once under oath, 0.
What do you mean by "talking heads"? Who are you referring to? Are you talking about commentators?

That aside, the Mueller report established dozens of contacts and 10 instances that could have warranted obstruction charges. I assume this has been explained to you several times already.

So prosecuting thought crime is the way to go?

Now friends just imagine investigating an entity you know didn't commit the crime you are investigating whilst at every turn attempting to entrap them. All while you failed to do your own job of counter intelligence by briefing them. Then before you stop imagining realize the entity you are trying to set up is the opposition for the presidency to your big boss WORST PRESIDENT EVER Barry O.

Then realise you don't actually have to imagine because that's what actually happened.

imagine being so pathetic, insecure and small minded to have a Trump gif as an avatar for your account on an Australian football forum? Then realise you don't actually have to imagine because there are actually people who do this kind of weird shit...

Using capital letters makes it true.

Ignorant to the end. "Everything was thrown at this." Ha ha. In Watergate there was a special prosecutor and bipartisan investigations by Congress, there was sworn testimony from crucial players. Nixon was faced with the certainty of impeachment and removal, and then quit. There was no conviction (underlined so you can't claim to have missed this part).
This time around Mueller couldn't put together a 'beyond doubt' case of Trump's guilt because the president, the white house and the various cronies refused to testify or provide documents. Mueller's report indicated that there was collusion but he had been prevented from proving it because of the defence tactics.
The other difference this time is that there is no longer enough integrity in the Republican party to act on the facts.

Nailed it 60 Yards Out - like a Barry Price stab pass onto McKenna's chest :D
The other misconception is the Mueller bias against Trump - it was actually the opposite in that Mueller stayed well in his lane and didn't go outside the investigation scope. That stopped him from looking at potential finance connections via the Deutsche Bank Loans and any related Russian interests.
One can only hope the SDNY has that on their radar going forward.

Trump not happy
In conversations this weekend, Trump has expressed concern that aides contracting coronavirus would undercut his message that the outbreak is waning and states should begin reopening, according to a person who spoke to him.
Trump voiced frustration that two White House staffers tested positive for coronavirus and has asked why his valets weren't ordered to wear masks before this week, according to the person.

If Trump and pence wore masks maybe their underlinings would
He is still on magically disappear routine. Sadly the numbers are going up not down and states opening up is not going to help the numbers going down

The odds of him contracting it have shortened considerably - key question, if he were to have it, would he tell anyone?

How long can you keep a potentially deadly virus under wraps on a diet of Maccas and Aderrall?

Also nailed it. Mueller was boxed in tightly and knew he'd be attacked without mercy -- perhaps even fired -- if he took a broad view of his brief.
Even allowing for that, he had plenty to go on and could have written a much tougher report.
Hopefully, as you say, the SDNY has picked up the traces on the financial dealings.

Considering Sleepy Joe is his opponent this should be considered more a dig at him, also Obama was the worst president ever, any criticism of him is valid!

Harding and his gross corruption, Hoover and his exacerbation of the Great Depression, Buchanan and his appeasement of pro-slavery movements (right before the civil war), and Johnson and opposition to reconstruction post civil war all are easily worse than any president the USA has had in the last 70 years.

I'm no fan of Obama, but overselling hope isnt a patch on the shit this quartet did.

Loved the reference to Pricey and Macca, by the way. Great days.
As I recall it, Goggin to Wade was a formidable pairing too. :)
