USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

He's putting people loyal to him, in prominent roles at organisations many of them have axes to grind with. The result he'll be hoping for is that they'll simply let him do whatever he feels like.
Yeah, that what he did before. But what is the goal with Congress and the Dems? He's going to dominate the news cycles and panel shows for sure. His tactics are usually about throwing people off balance, that's why he used to jerk them forward when shaking hands, complain and attack preemptively before things like elections. He won't have everything his own way.

Not shocked as the chinese government wont pay for the price rise despite trump saying it will

But here’s the downside of tariffs: They almost always, at least in the immediate future until markets can adjust, make goods more expensivefor the American consumer. Tariffs are not, in fact, paid for by foreign countries. It is the importers, aka the American companies, that pay tariffs. And those companies, universally, end up passing that “tax” onto the consumer in the form of higher prices.

It's a big thing in trades (i.e. building, plumbing, electricians), as much of their equipment is imported. So the cost of building (and insurance) will go up. Couple that with increased natural disasters....

Well, every day brings fresh guffaws at the clearly institutionalised and dare I say, nationalised hubris of the USA and its citizenry.

I shall now introduce some culture to this thread, perhaps to outline where I think it will all end up.....

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Maybe you could credit the poet who wrote that. Like name him?

Wait, so Trump took a bunch of republicans on a field trip to watch a space X launch. In the meantime, there was a vote on judicial nominations, which passed because a number of republicans were thus absent.

Could Trump get more inept?

Trumpers help me understand the thought process here?

Hahaha, "thought process".

Good one.

He tried to do it before, but there were way too many somewhat competent people that chose to uphold the institution over Trump. He's going a lot harder this time around, the GOP will control both the House and Senate, and SCOTUS is fully onboard with him.

Very different.

Federal investigators established a trail of payments from Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s choice to be attorney general, to women including some who testified that Mr. Gaetz hired them for sex, according to a document obtained by The New York Times and a lawyer representing some of the women.
The document, assembled by investigators during a three-year sex-trafficking investigation into Mr. Gaetz, is a chart that shows a web of thousands of dollars in Venmo payments between Mr. Gaetz and a group of his friends, associates and women who had drug-fueled sex parties between 2017 and 2020, according to testimony that participants are said to have given to federal and congressional investigators.

Ending remote work across government is being considered a potential “early candidate” for executive orders that members of DOGE will recommend to Trump, the source said. “It’s definitely on the table,” the source said, though it’s unclear how much they believe this will save the federal government.

But I didnt vote for that

Federal prosecutors in New York charged the Indian mogul Gautam Adani, one of the world’s richest people, with multiple counts of fraud, accusing him and associates of bribing Indian officials and later lying to investors about the scheme.
Mr. Adani, who has amassed a fortune estimated to be over $85 billion from holdings in ports, coal mines and airports, was charged with wire and securities fraud by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, the office said Wednesday in a statement.

The charges stem from accusations that the defendants paid more than $250 million in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain lucrative solar energy contracts with the government for a business called Adani Green Energy. Mr. Adani personally met with officials to discuss the scheme in person, prosecutors said.

It’s insane that amount of wealth to one person.
I think Trump sees the US something he and his Oligarchs can plunder.

Dr. Oz Mehmet is a Turkish citizen that faught for the Turkish army, has close ties to the fascist Erdogan.
He is another enemy of the U.S.
This is awesome!🙌
They will need to install a revolving door at the White House - these "popularity based" appointments are bound to fail.
A hiring policy based on loyalty and arse kissing is never going to end well

Some very salient facts in those articles.
Another issue with Trump's last Trade War with China is that it was inflationary and also reduced GDP by ~ 0.8%.
IIRC it also didn't change the Balance Of Trade much at all.
After all that I still think Trump is of the belief that China will pay for the tariffs - just like Mexico will pay for the wall.....what a ****ing dumbarse.
