Mod Notice

The level of vitriol and frankly toxic culture in this thread is getting out of hand. As such, the thread will be monitored actively for posters who drag down the quality of posting for all others, and they will have their access to the thread removed.

Further, reference to TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and its counterpart 'Trumpanzee' or anything similar will no longer be allowed. Much like other tropes of that nature, they serves as a conversational barrier and fall-back point for people to simply sling mud. That's unacceptable.

As always, please submit ideas for the thread title by tagging me! Winner announced when I get around to it.

Thanks.

The reality is that Trump made bullshit claims about what he "saw on TV" after 9/11.

The facts did not prove him correct.

People were absolutely right to question his claims.

The reality is that on one occasion (when he was interviewed) Trump made claims that turned out to be true and on another occasion he made claims that went further that haven't been proven (or disproven).

You're blame shifting.

Rather than focus on the response of the government, you want to talk about a minor celebrity. It's nonsense.
I'm actually talking about the commentary system called the news networks that stoke this fire.

I'll assume you're not intentionally missing that point.

As if you have any insight into the "commentary system".

Now it's the media's fault. More blame shifting.

When are you going to talk about the responsibilities of the president and the federal government?

Have any of the democrat leaders come out and criticised this lawlessness or are they all still silent while sporting their black outlaw masks? Can't upset the base and all...

Fine, I'll live with that.

I think that's the closest to any scintilla of an agreement on this as we're going to get.
So you should find a better example if your argument is that Trump says something controversial, gets questioned by the media before being ultimately vindicated by the facts.

Trump's tall tale of what he saw after 9/11 is not an example of that.

No surprise that the usual suspects are trying to frame the discussion to justify their own racism. You’re fooling nobody with your fake acts of concern. The sooner the US falls into a full revolution the better.

Why do you endlessly talk shit?

It changes the entire context. He wasnt indiscriminately shooting arrows at the crowd. He was counter protesting that "all lives matter" (which they do) while trying to keep the threat at bay.
If he really needed to protest, I am sure he could have taken a knee unarmed during the national anthem.

Further to my comment on media stoking fires here.

It most certainly is the media's fault. Remember what set off the Ferguson Riots? How it was set up in the media as an innocent man with his hands up saying don't shoot being gunned down by a police officer and it turned out to have been a shooting in self defense with both the witnesses at the event and the forensic evidence clearing the police officer? With key "witnesses" against the police officer turning out to have not even been there?

The media sure broadcast that one way, stirred up emotions and validated the narrative. The city burned. People died.

The media are more at fault here than any other group. This happened under Obama.

What kind of argument is this?

You can't go into a crowd and start pointing a weapon at people and not expect a reaction.
Yes. The routine assumption is that when a weapon is pointed at anyone the person pointing it intends to use it.
