One spectator is dead and two critically injured, were they hit with glass from the teleprompter also? Multiple shots were fired, none of us know what has really happened other than a shooter has been shot dead and Trump has been taken to hospital for a wound to the ear. When shots are fired at a former US president it's usually a big deal, he wouldn't know if it was glass shards or a bullet. This will be determined over coming days. I was at an event they were at and I couldnt see - nor did I look to be honest - for any overt security

I was standing outside the gate to government house, and could see police with guns on the building roofs opposite (AMP building perhaps?). Wasn't looking in particular for anything which was why it was shocking to see them.

Dictators who were democratically elected take 10 years to become dictators. Look at Putin and Erdogen. It doesnt happen over night. You have to get all your guys into positions of power and this takes time.

In the US you need to have the supreme court, the military, congress and have those on your party in congress basically be yes men.

In Trumps first term he didnt have this. By the end of his secomd term he might very well have it.

That is not a photo of the bullet.

A .22 bullet travels at about 1200 feet/sec. The fastest shutter speed is 1/4000. So, even if you had sufficient lighting, in that time, the bullet will travel .3ft (3.6 inches). You're not going to do it with shutter speed - especially not by accident.

What you will need to do is have a set-up where you can create a dark environment, keep your shutter open, and illuminate the bullet with a quick burst of light as it passes in front of the lens, which will require a sound activated timer to set off your strobe.

(Edit: there are scientists working for the Dept of Defence at the Port Wakefield proof range laboratories who do this for a living)
