We see this sentiment here. Bill Maher openly prayed for a recession to hurt Trump (videos are out there if you search). Posters here beg for it every day. While such sentiment and investor "panic" can become a self fulfilling prophecy and cause a recession in themselves, this does not go forward without obvious market indicators suggesting that the panic is valid to those who actually know what they're doing.

To the TDS sufferers: there may be reduced growth next year, but there will be no recession. Please don't feel bad about this... an actual recession would have hurt you more than it would've hurt Drumpf!!

Very few people are cheerleading for a recession because of the real world implications you mention.

But a recession is coming.

Under employment is chronic, inflation flatlining (due to lack of genuine consumer demand driving growth). Investment is far too weak. Govt debt limits fiscal responses, and already low interest rates monetary ones.

If you want to make the likelihood of a recession worse, do stuff like raise consumer prices by starting a trade war using tariffs, or exiting your most important trading block.

What people are stunned at is idiots cheerleading policies that are increasing the likelihood of a global recession. Not to mention those who believe trump is divine or king of the jews
