Love all the rational posters in this thread but this has been happening for some time.
Recall weather newscasters in the 70's and 80's getting death threats (particularly those in NYC in the midst of a particularly steamy summer).
"What is the Government doing?"
"Stop talking and do something about it!".
There is a type in the States though that does seem more prone to this to this type of delusion.
Lee Majors and Lynda Carter were undoubtedly real heroes to some of them.
Unfortunately, the deception is a good deal more subtle and nuanced now.
It's tough keeping on top of it all.
