This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

I’ll pick one example of what you wrote - black people commit more crimes per capita.

Now you write that without any context as to why that could conceivably be the case, just makes it seem you think black people are just more dispositioned to commit crimes just cos they are black.

Now if you actually believe that, yes I’d say you are racist.

Everything needs context, I’d suggest the above stat would be more along class/socioeconomic lines. America has a disproportionate amount of poor people who are black (a disproportionate amount of poor people in general too).

So your initial claim about black people committing more crime per capital maybe factually correct, without contexts it is used as a way of saying “black people are inferior beings so **** them”.

Is that even when 50% of violent crime is being committed by black males (mostly against other black men) who make up just 6.5% of the population.

Decisions made to disadvantage someone purely based on their race is racist.

Depends on the policies

Bringing disadvantaged people up is absolutely fine. Bring those people up, for sure.

Bringing others down to do that, eg to meet DEI and affirmative action objectives is absolutely not. And if that is done because the were the wrong skin color, then its racism, no ifs or buts about it. In one example, Asian students took Harvard to the US Supreme Court for being discriminated against and won.

Few Muslims in Pennsylvania or elsewhere would have been convinced that Trump was their saviour.

Harris gave them nothing but a promise of more of the same, which is to give Israel everything at wants while paying lip service to decency with 'red line' and 'ceasefire'.

There's no question the Democrats are afraid to do the right thing because of their long history with Israel But US voters have swapped that for someone who isn't afraid to do the wrong thing. One only needs to see who he has appointed to know that Republicans are going to be worse than Democrats for Palestinians. Any Muslim who voted for Trump is complicit because he told them exactly who he was and they ignored it.

At least the Democrats seemed to be considering bringing Israel into line, even if they baulked. They probably didn't count on Netanyahu going against all established behaviour in order to run interference for Trump.

I wouldn't call any of that 'appalling'.
Maybe its appalling for a Greens voter but for everyone else these are relatively mainstream.

Climate change - supports all energy sources including renewables. Like most people outside of Fitzroy, Brunswick and Glebe
Opposed to abortion - only after 20 weeks which is in line with most people I would have thought.
SSM - Her right to that opinion. I disagree personally but understand people who have that position.
Obamacare - well, it is rubbish to be honest
Poor on Covid - she was outspoken about masks and lockdowns. Hardly on her own there.

If you say black people are more criminal than white because of statistics, and you're a male, you're a moron.

If you used the same logic, men would have to live in prison farms and only allowed out under strict supervision, and placed on suicide watch 24/7.

Men are over-represented much more than any race in all the worst statistics:
Murder
Drug dealing
sexual assault
Shooting
Stabbing
Suicide
Car crashes
Falling off ladders.

You name it, men are statistically worse for it.

Yet we have men in charge in the countries where these statistics are well known. So it's not about statistics, it's about something else.
