Concrete, specific policies alluded to above include:
  1. Finish the Border wall with Mexico.
  2. Deport over a million people, using the National Guard and Army.
  3. Ending inflation.
  4. Make America the dominant energy producer in the world (currently this is China, and by some margin)
  5. Turning America into a 'manufacturing superpower' (it already is, second only to China, so to get this one up we would need to see real gains).
  6. Large tax cuts for workers.
  7. No tax on tips.
  8. Prevent World War three (?), restore peace in Europe and in the Middle East (presumably this means ending the War in Israel/ Palestine/ Lebanon/ Iran, and ending the Russia/ Ukraine conflict 'in 24 hours').
  9. Build a great iron dome missile defense shield over our entire country -- all made in America.
  10. Stop the migrant crime epidemic, demolish the foreign drug cartels, crush gang violence, and lock up violent offenders (this includes the death penalty for drug dealers).
  11. Rebuild our cities, including Washington DC, making them safe, clean, and beautiful again.
  12. Strengthen and modernize our military, making it, without question, the strongest and most powerful in the world (current US Military spending is $841.4 billion for the Department of Defense (DOD), $32.4 billion for national security programs within the Department of Energy (DOE), and $438.0 million in defense-related activities).
  13. Keep the U.S. dollar as the world's reserve currency (although it's not like he has the power to stop the USD being the Worlds default reserve currency in any event).
  14. No cuts to social security and Medicare.
  15. No changes to the retirement age.
  16. Cancel the electric vehicle mandate (good mate Musk is going to love this one).
  17. Cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, radical gender ideology, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.
  18. Keep men out of women's sports.
  19. Deport pro-Hamas radicals and make our college campuses safe and patriotic again.
  20. Secure our elections, including same day voting, voter identification, paper ballots, and proof of citizenship.
Sounds good to me.

This was always going to happen and the blue collar workers will pat for it, yep the same ones who voted for donny.
Yep,
and their media choices will reinforce and hammer more deeply those conservative opinions that it is great for them.
Out of all the literature I was subjected to in high school half a century ago, two have had a life-long, real world impact: Brave New World and 1984.
Have the local GOP white trash gotten around to banning them yet from their parishes? Probably need to to squelch any concepts of plans for resistance. :winkv1:

This is precisely the response I’d expect from a Trump supporter.
Yep. Apparently an anti-democracy candidate using a democratic election to seize power and quite likely impose any number of antidemocratic measures is a stroke of genius.

Up there with shouting “fire” in a crowded theatre because freedom of speech.

The pro Hamas radicals referred to in number 19 are probably mostly US citizens. Not sure how or where you would deport US citizens.

Nobody said it was. It's just an article articulating how many women in the US feel and how many are dealing with it, given the misogyny that underpins the modern Republican party
I get that. I'm really surprised though that the response is to reference and seemingly identify with a group so at odds with left wing ideals.

Donnie the Dove is reportedly considering Mike Rogers for Secretary of Defence.

Rogers is a neocon who's received nearly $2 million from weapons manufacturers and others in the military industry over his congressional career who as Chair of the House Armed Services Committee has sought to maintain the excessive military budget.

Maybe we're not getting four years of a peaceloving presidency after all.

Be good to book mark these and test his strike rate by 2028.

I'll take a stab now .... 3/20.

Well there's a low bar.

You know there's a reason why a lot of Trump haters bang on about democracy? Because it's much, much better than dictatorships, or totalitarian regimes.

OK, I'll rephrase - "FMD the guy is so far ahead of any other major political figure in a democracy past or present I can’t believe you’re even asking this question."

If the best thing we can say about Trump's integrity is he isn't as bad as Stalin, what the **** have 75,000,000 Americans just voted for?

No I believe you meant what you said originally

the guy is so far ahead of any other major political figure past or present I can’t believe you’re even asking this question.

Its pretty obvious the media's hyperbole about Trump eg He's Hitler, he will end democracy in the US, he's a fascist he will cause WW3 is effecting how people think when it comes to him. In the real world outside imaginary media hype, there is zero comparison between him any other major political figure past or present that he is being compared alongside.

Yep, hit the nail on the head.

Within western democracies, there is zero comparison with Trump’s dishonesty.

There is zero comparison with his stated intention to use democracy to harm democracy.

There is zero comparison with his refusal to accept a fair and square democratic election loss.

It ain't as it is a whole state popular vote for the electoral college vote. So whether you live on 60 acres in rural Iowa or in a unit in downtown Des Moines your vote has the same weighting. But that weighting is better than someone living on 100 acres in rural New York.

Of course its the whole State.

Looka at this map:

It "resizes" and scales the area the States in proprtion to their EC votes. Note the red States shrink in area when re-scales this way.

I wonder if extreme left/progressive politics was the tipping point.

As a centrist, I felt we were close.
Can you show me the Democrats' far left/progressive politics policies? Because I really don't think there are any. The only ones constantly talking about trans people and women's sports and the like is the Republicans. The Democrats' stance seems to be nothing more than let them exist under current laws/don't actively legislate against them.

Here's the thing, Hitler hated trans and gay people, Regan hated gay people and thought AIDS was a punishment. A lot of people in between as well. They're all dead now and gay and trans people still exist. They'll still exist when Trump is dead. You're on the wrong side of history thinking you can stop people from being who they want to be so long as they are not bothering anyone but themselves.

As did Pence when he was a governor of Indiana.
