Marco Rubio expected to be named as Secretary of State.

The establishment must really be shaking with how much Trump is pushing back against it.
I will honestly laugh quite hard if Vivek and Tim Scott don't get any significant roles in the administration after the degree to which they embarrassed themselves clamoring over Donald during the campaign.

Press Secretary will be an interesting choice.

Concrete, specific policies alluded to above include:
  1. Finish the Border wall with Mexico.
  2. Deport over a million people, using the National Guard and Army.
  3. Ending inflation.
  4. Make America the dominant energy producer in the world (currently this is China, and by some margin)
  5. Turning America into a 'manufacturing superpower' (it already is, second only to China, so to get this one up we would need to see real gains).
  6. Large tax cuts for workers.
  7. No tax on tips.
  8. Prevent World War three (?), restore peace in Europe and in the Middle East (presumably this means ending the War in Israel/ Palestine/ Lebanon/ Iran, and ending the Russia/ Ukraine conflict 'in 24 hours').
  9. Build a great iron dome missile defense shield over our entire country -- all made in America.
  10. Stop the migrant crime epidemic, demolish the foreign drug cartels, crush gang violence, and lock up violent offenders (this includes the death penalty for drug dealers).
  11. Rebuild our cities, including Washington DC, making them safe, clean, and beautiful again.
  12. Strengthen and modernize our military, making it, without question, the strongest and most powerful in the world (current US Military spending is $841.4 billion for the Department of Defense (DOD), $32.4 billion for national security programs within the Department of Energy (DOE), and $438.0 million in defense-related activities).
  13. Keep the U.S. dollar as the world's reserve currency (although it's not like he has the power to stop the USD being the Worlds default reserve currency in any event).
  14. No cuts to social security and Medicare.
  15. No changes to the retirement age.
  16. Cancel the electric vehicle mandate (good mate Musk is going to love this one).
  17. Cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, radical gender ideology, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.
  18. Keep men out of women's sports.
  19. Deport pro-Hamas radicals and make our college campuses safe and patriotic again.
  20. Secure our elections, including same day voting, voter identification, paper ballots, and proof of citizenship.
Sounds good to me.

The democrats had an entire policy platform.

If you know nothing about it, that's on you.

Not sure I understand why. It's simply a joke meme referencing that boxer at the Olympics who 'identified' as female who pummeled their unfortunate opponent. It doesn't condone violence against women in any way. If anything it does the opposite. It struck a chord with me because I hated the vision of that poor unfortunate opponent both during the fight and her despair afterwards.

How good is it? it's been a week and it still doesn't feel real.

I wasn't sure the Americans had the gumption to elect him but they proved me wrong - big time.

It brings a tear to my eye that Americans are rejecting censorship, lawfare and attacks on the democratic process. He won the electoral college in a landslide, the popular vote, the senate and the house - he has been given a complete mandate by the people to implement his will and it is also America's utter rejection of the modern Democrat (effectively socialist) party that has strayed far from its original principles of democracy.

What's more he did it without the considerable funding from billionaires, special interest groups and the wealthy that donated a massive amount to Kamala's campaign (just goes to show you can't buy a presidency) - see below.

what is more amazing is that without stepping foot in the office, and in a week, Trump has accomplished the following which is more than what the 'Democrat' regime did in 4 years:
  • First ever woman appointed as Chief of Staff
  • Taliban has announced they want peace
  • Putin makes announcement that western civilization is not an enemy
  • Mexico actually diverting large illegal immigrant caravans in response to tariff threats
  • Saudi Arabia kicking out Hamas leaders
  • NYC mayor says city will no longer provide food vouchers to illegal immigrants
  • China has made a statement re peaceful co-existence with the US
  • European Union initiated talks with Trump to buy US LNG rather than Russian LNG
  • Putin announces he takes Trumps wishes to end war with Ukraine very seriously and Russia supports it
  • Houthis stepping back
  • Hamas calls for immediate end to war
  • Financial markets going into all time highs
  • He is single handidly ending racism
    • Captured a dominant proportion of native american voters
    • Huge surge in the Jewish vote (look at the New Jersey turnout)
    • Huge surge in the young latino male voters
    • Gained huge support from Hindus following denouncement of persecution in Bangladesh
    • Huge surge in Mormon engagement and votes
We are happy for the US but at the same time, one can't help but feel the future for Australia is a little bleak. Serious questions need to be raised here, what do Australians need to do elect a leader like Trump? (is an IQ increase of 30 across the board sufficient?), how are we getting it so wrong?

Deep introspection is required and ultimately Australians will need to determine whether their values and principles are genuinely good.

The people here actually further Trump's cause so it's good in the long term.

Look at the way some posters have referred to the american working class, I've seen the following words: ******s, idiots, deplorables, low information, fascists etc. If that is genuinely the left's attitude to the majority of the population, they will never be on the right side of history.

Also consider the way people here refer to Trump as Hitler. For all Trump's character faults, he has never come close to committing a genocide. Calling him or equating him to someone that put millions in a furnace reduces the significance of Hitler's actions and is highly disrespectful to Jews - it's a little psychopathic and no rational person would want to be associated with a group that spreads this rhetoric.

Say what you want about his politics, but Hitler never worked at McDonalds.

Hitler didn't start by marching millions to the furnace, that's how it ended. Refusing to understand how it happened and the methods that led to it is wilful ignorance. No one has suggested Trump has marched anyone to the furnace but he has demonised migrants, praised Nazi era generals and made 'jokes' about not needing elections. Being alert to where that kind of rhetoric can and has ended previously is called understanding history so we are not doomed to repeat it.

Ignoring the dangers is disrespectful to everyone.
