The majority of America as a whole is slightly irrelevant, if it captures people who didn't bother voting at all.

This was false yesterday, and is still false today.

Going out on a limb here, because it's hard to say based on Republicans radio silence about these things, but they might just have something against minorities.

A bit like the genocide, if they're doing everything to indicate that they are bigots, and take steps to peel back protections for minorities, give a million hints that this is what's happening and most of their supporters say it's what they want, as long as they don't state openly that this is what they're doing, then it's ok.

The White House isn't just directing federal agencies to eliminate DEI programs (diversity, equity and inclusion), it's also encouraging workers to report on any attempts by their colleagues to "disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language" — and threatening workers who don't dob in their colleagues with "adverse consequences".
Federal employees are being sent emails by their agency heads that specify they have 10 days to report such instances or face potential disclipinary action.
The emails were based on a template provided by the White House's Office of Personnel Management, according to The New York Times.

People anticipating Treasury bonds to drop nearly half a % in the first half of the year are going to get a rude shock from the inflationary measures Trump is taking. I don't think he can tank the economy enough to have high inflation and have Yields coming down.

If the US had a justice system that was actually just, there’d never be any need for presidential pardons.

No they're not, yes mining companies are 'encouraged' to employ on the basis of DEI, that does not equate to just hiring any schmo on the basis of DEI, coz society says so. It's not mandatory (if that is what you're implying)

Any appointed employee does have to have merit for their role.

I know because I work on a mine site, I see it first hand. I've met 'DEI' appointments at my work place and they all have the relevant qualifications and experience for their roles. It's not solely based on mandatory quotas.

Anti-DEI sentiment is at best just a basic lack of understanding or at worst thinly veiled prejudice.

Especially with Canada signalling they will respond with retaliatory tariffs. They are the US' biggest trading partner
