I mean i know why far right people would be upset with someone defending queer people or at least showing them compassion, Moreso i am surprised the level of outrage for someone just asking for some compassion.

just bizzare.
So what does that say about far right people?
What are they lacking as human beings?

Well, there certainly are some cooked units on either extreme end of the political spectrum.

The fact these right-wing people lack compassion in this specific instance isn't a surprise, I'm just surprised it took so little to get them riled up.

Why do you constantly feel the need to dilute your credibility with some bizarre inference of moral equivalence?

It's bizarre to think both extreme sides of the political spectrum have nutters on it? In this specific case in regard to those on the right who are giving shit to a lady who said nothing but the truth?

i know this forum is left leaning but jesus.....there are crazy people on the left too mate, my credibly isn't shot for suggesting there is........I'm not even entirely concerned what you think my credibility is... this is a political forum within a footy forum.........

He just can’t let anything through to the keeper
Spot on peetoo
As a malignant narcissist he cannot accept anything that even remotely resembles criticism or calling out his behaviour.
It's just not in his DNA , he will punch back and double down every single time , no matter how petty the issue is...............

tHeRe ArE cRaZy PeOpLe oN bOtH sIdEs he shouts, as though they're the same, despite the extreme left being in power at the Byron Bay council and the extreme right being in power of checks notes the dominant military power on the planet.

I really don't know why you're astonished at the reaction of people who have lined up behind Trump and the MAGA brand. You might think that's only to be expected of far-right people, but it's the majority of the Republican party that has these views or at the very least excuses them.

Apart from anything else, it's going to clog up the courts for decades.

It's just a side show IMO. Dont think is going to get any time in a court.

From recall most companies see real tangible benefits from diversifying their workforce with DEI hiring.

It has real benefits, not just a tick box. The people being hired are qualified and capable for the job.

Most good companies will still practice DEI hiring, which is a good thing for society, and their own business.

Late night hosts have always gone after presidents. The only difference now is the guy in office is happy to mock and belittle but he himself can’t be mocked or belittle.
That and previous presidents didn't sit around watching TV all day. They were the most powerful people on earth so so didn't care about what "TV people" thought unlike this whiny little insecure dotard.

No. Well, Trump can't at least.

The idea is to whip up anger at her simply for being consistent with her religion.

Even if she doesn't suffer any employment consequences, it serves as a warning to others who might publicly exercise their freedom of speech and religion, if it doesn't align with Trump.
She could probably expect a visit from the proud boys at her next sermon.

I think what Neo-Cons and MAGA don't understand is that by cutting Govt spending, you also slow the economy, since most Govt spending is in-house. Particularly jobs/wages.

This House is going to cut taxes on the wealthy and cut Govt jobs. At the same time as tariffs, insurance, healthcare costs and labour costs are all going to be increasing. Doesn't seem very sustainable to me.

I think we'll get what we're getting in Argentina. Poverty will go up, but so will the stock market and investments (share buybacks, inflationary profits etc.) The rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. I can't see wages exceeding inflation, given the state of pay negotiations in the USA and power of the oligarchs, but that's the hail-mary they'll be wanting to see.

These are all fair points; US Spending is generally still in line with their GDP. So, they are getting good growth for the spending that are doing.

The spending issue on its own is not the issue - the issue is US Debt is out of control and is also on a very unsustainable path. The question is what's the best way to do it.

They need to do something to control it. Now mind you sacking entire government departments of stuff like DEI is IMO an incredibly bad way to go about it. BUT they need to pull some levers reign it in.

Trump maybe impeached by February with abuse of power charges stemming from pardoning members of the Proud Boys who were charged with seditious conspiracy.
The GOP didn't care when he fraudulently attempted to overturn an election.

Most of those in the GOP who stood up for democracy have been driven out.

There is zero chance of impeachment. Johnson wouldn't even allow a vote, let alone begin the process.

You seem well informed. Literally on his show after Trump's first inauguration.

Triumph isn't Conan, that's Robert Smigel, I was referring to Conan's opening monologues which aren't political like other hosts.

What would one more impeachment matter to Trump when he has already been impeached twice before during his first term.

Back in the before times, and I might have posted this before, my biggest antipathy in politics was reserved for the Gingrichs and McConnells of the world, AND equally Pelosi and the corporate Ds. What ever good they had achieved I felt was overshadowed by the corrupt depths they had brought the Congress to. (and I am/was aware of the corruption endemic in Congress since forever).
Then the Mongol invasion of MAGA and Trump rolled in from the steppes...
That is an existential threat that has to be defeated first. THEN we can get back to getting rid of the garden variety corruption.
Yes but I think that ship may of already sailed. The garden variety corruption has gone to its logical next step with Trump. Its almost at the point anything less than pitchforks in the streets and a mass revolt by the people will change anything. Then you'd see the military used against US people etc.

I am not sure how this all ends or when, I just know its going to get worse before it gets better.

It's Conan's show...

Do you honestly think he wasn't involved in including this in his own show?

Of course he would have been involved in that segment being included but he wasn't making any personal political statements.

Unlike other late night talk show hosts you wouldn't know whether Conan was on the Democrats side or the Republicans side.

The below sounds particularly dystopian. As reported by ABC news.

Federal workers told to dob in colleagues who 'disguise' DEI programs

By Andrew Thorpe

The White House isn't just directing federal agencies to eliminate DEI programs (diversity, equity and inclusion), it's also encouraging workers to report on any attempts by their colleagues to "disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language" — and threatening workers who don't dob in their colleagues with "adverse consequences".
Federal employees are being sent emails by their agency heads that specify they have 10 days to report such instances or face potential disclipinary action.
The emails were based on a template provided by the White House's Office of Personnel Management, according to The New York Times.
Anyone can see where is is really going. Give them the ability to fire whoever they want for any tenuous reason, and make sure they only people employed are white males and accuse any female or minority as being a DEI hire.

I never thought I would see the day on BF that we have people here dismissing and/or defending an actual Nazi salute.
In 2015-16 maybe I would have agreed. In the Trump era, he or anyone in his orbit who is popular can get away with anything. The shadow of WWII is long gone now, and to many people there is no shame in far-right rhetoric.
