Personal attacks are also to be kept to a minimum.

Just a reminder, even if it hasn't come up for a few pages and y'all should know this stuff by now:

This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

Do not post conspiracy theories on this forum. We have an entire other forum for that.

Thanks all.

Congrats Royces Hart on the new thread title!

Not too many sensible replies to the Elon Musk question, so much for the renewable energy sector? A few years ago all the Hollywood types were driving around in their new Tesla's flaunting their support for Elon's electric car, now they support the destruction of it all? Bizarre.

Pretty sure they'll just buy EV's not made by a company whose CEO likes to throw around nazi salutes.

It amazes me all of this Elon Musk hatred by the left? What are they afraid of? Are they afraid of being caught out with their fraudulent lifestyle at the expense of the masses and losing all their cheap benefits with the waste and corruption exposed?
So Elon is now all bad in the eyes of the unstable left, they now hate the bloke who wanted people to drive an electric car instead of a fuel guzzling SUV ( the left loved them initially), so he founded Tesla motors. Come 2025 we now see attacks on property carrying the logo of Elon Muk's electric car company with bullets and molotov cocktails aimed at Tesla showrooms. i suppose acquiring Solarcity corporation now known as Tesla Energy means nothing these days? So is it a target?
Elon wanted a new payment method on the internet, so he co-founded Pay Pal, Elon wanted to go to space cheaper, so he created SpaceX, Elon wanted faster transportation, so he is developing Hyperloop, Elon does not tell everyone how bad the world is, Elon is working on changing the world for the better.
Elon wants to curb waste and corruption in government and this is bad thing? Odd.

Thanks... good points... I used to believe in governmental due process, but your words have convinced me that if someone was capable enough to found a business or two it's a good thing to just do away with all that nonsense and trust them completely.

It wasn't as apparent a few years ago that the guy was a wannabee dictator.

People knew he was a mouthy grifter, good at getting media exposure and credit while actual smart people did the work.

They could live with that, I mean, it's practically the American way.

But now? No, just no.

Why don't you buy one, or three?

Lots of sensible replies, but if there is one thing your good at, it's ignoring what you don't want to acknowledge.

What are you on about. He has no idea how the impeachment process works. He knows how to leach off the government at best. He’s basically a man baby with self esteem issues.
He doesn’t need to know how the process works, he knows large proportion of the world doesn’t and feeds off the ignorance to peddle misinformation.

Then if he’s ever called to account peddles a lame excuse and moves on to the next move.

Jackflash, you keep repeating the same tired line like a broken vinyl from 2013.

Nobody’s attacking “electric cars”, they’re rejecting the billionaire who turned renewables into a vanity cult, used government subsidies to fund his empire, then pivoted into a political wrecking ball trying to gut the civil service, slash social programs, and bankroll MAGA chaos.

Tesla isn’t being “destroyed” because it’s electric, it’s being boycotted because Musk turned it into a symbol of grift, hypocrisy, and authoritarian cosplay.

You don’t get to hide behind solar panels while your golden boy helps dismantle democracy.

You asked a question, now stop ducking the answer.

I have to say I am surprised at the extent to which the US has embraced stupidity as a philosophy to live by.

But devestated by how many Australians look at it and go, that's what we need here, we need some of that.

Far too many people hold one political belief only; 'own the libs'.

They don't really know why they want to own them, or what about the libs they find bad, or really anything else they're voting for, but so long as whoever it is tells them the libs will be owned, they're happy.

Did you read the quote? Stop making excuses

It’s actually illuminating (and reassuring) that almost every “developed” country is a target of their wrath. I only skim read small parts of that but saw Canada, EU, UK, China,Russia, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil (and more) names as countries with unfair practices.

It’s almost like the US is the outlier in allowing long term consumer gouging by Big Pharma.

A lot of Americans and MAGA simply have peasant mindsets. Of the belief that they compliment their masters enough and maybe one day they'll get their reward and take their place in the upper class. It's a pick-me mentality.

One thing that stands out to me watching these Clive Palmer/Trumpet of Patriots ads is that they don't have the cult of personality like Trump does to really cause a big stir here. Clive himself tried it years ago and failed, now they are trotting out some blonde chick who is about as banal as you could imagine... If you didn't know any better you'd just think you were watching an ad for the LNP.

(Many Tesla’s are made in China)
That Trump and Musk's focus is not on China makes our life a lot easier compared to Trump last time around when the Morrison government fell over themselves to sacrifice our industries in an effort to virtue signal to him.

Yeah, its basically one big whine about how they're getting 'ripped off' by everyone.
