5aa and their attitude towards PAFC

Is it my absolute sensitivity or is aa, particularly Grandpa Cornes and Rowe solely intent on chipping away at the Port Adelaide Football Club at any chance they get. I had a listen last night just to hear what PAFC player would be on etc and there is dumb and dumber saying the crowd was poor and that the players singing the song on the outer was "artificial" etc. Grandpa even said that if Port dont challenge the brogan situation that the players would lose respect for the club blah blah blah. I realise that I have a choice not to listen but it should not be like that and Port people should not be put into that situation by a bunch of cow lovers who have absolutely no objectivity whilst at the same time taking money as sports commentators/presenters. It appears to me and not that this is new, but that some people on aa have an agenda to do whatever they can to de-stabalise the PAFC.

I just don't listen to 5aa at all. Any interview of interest is usually discussed on these boards anyway. If it's a really good interview then i just get the podcast.

Same. Just don't bother. Not worth it. I still hope the Club- via Haysman continue to stick it to gra gra when he gets it wrong which is often, but I don't bother with the station anymore.

Standard response from any player or official when interviewed by Cow Face should be "you really are a bit of tool aren't you?" Would be brilliant if his boys could lead the charge.

I heard Cornzie say that as well (artificial) which had really got up my goat as well. The only thing that I find artificial is the club of Adelaide CLowns.

Graham was more concerned about how that ground looked with the new led signage on how it looked fantastic. Whoopdie bloody doo Graham, obvisiously he hasn't seen EPL that has been on the grounds years before.

I also think that the crowd attendance of 28K was a good result because people still are not convinced that Port are back to the Port of 04 & 07. Once we start winning games convincingly is when our crowd attendances will be averaging around 31K.

Graham's attitude towards our clubs history regarding our Living the Creed promotional take and how it will turn away supporters is only hurting our club. Mark Haysman should be contacting 5AA to stop Graham placing any negative comments that relates to Port Adelaide FC.

Even with his comments on why the Gates are named after football greats of Port Adelaide is another slap in the face to our club, after he says that AAMI stadium is the home of AFL football in SA, but we all know that it is the home of the Crows and the supporters of the Crows are annoyed that we play at this ground which is no advantage when it comes to Showdowns.

I still listen but may have to stop because I am starting to have visions of going down to 5AA and smacking the crap out of that sour old man Cornes. (I am not a violent person at all)

On last nights show they started with commentary highlights of both of the SA teams games. After this concluded, Rowey and the sorry old sap Cornes had a bit of a wankfest over the Crows performance and Pentrenko in particular. Rowey then asked about the Port game to which the sorry old sap Cornes replied in with an anguished voice something like "Ah it was so frustrating to watch blah blah blah" All negative, nothing positive.

A bit later, a caller commented that he has been to every Port game and says he estimates the crowd to within a thousand give or take. In his opinion there were 33,000 at the game and added that when he was outside the arena, there were alot of people just getting ushered through the gates because the scanners were not working. He was adamant about the accuracy of his calculation. The sorry old sap Cornes of course belittled the caller with a smug "Whatever you reckon" type comment.

Anther caller then raised the issue of how long people had to wait to get in the ground because of the rediculous amount of time it takes to process the tickets. In the callers opinion, he felt the AFL and SANFL need to fix up the on the day ticket purchasing system. The sorry old sap Cornes of course blamed Port Adelaide for asking the SANFL to close some of the gates.

I have also heard The sorry old sap Cornes question why a gate would be named after Russel Ebert because as the sorry old sap Cornes points out, Russel Ebert has never played for the Power.

Cornes needs to either SHUT THE F**K UP about all things Port Adelaide or
5AA should be professional enough to remove him if he does not stop his continual negative and inaccurate BULLS*IT against our great club.

There is zero advantage to listening to double crow, and 100% advantage to reading Bigfooty, anything of interest will show up here with a whole lot less aggravation attached.

We all know that an ex crow coach & tigers player plus an ex crow / redleg player will be so anti Port that it's pointless to attach anything except a bullshit meter to whatever they say. If they were to say anything positive about Port, I'd imagine that it would be dripping with sarcasm and do more harm than good.

Nope, I do not even listen to anything on double crow anymore, every single advertiser they have is wasting their money as far as I am concerned.

It is sooooo frustrating. I agree entirely with every post on here and for some reason over the last few years I keep going back to listen to that crap with 'some' hope that one day things will change.

Most non PAFC people in SA will say oh, just a few PAFC supporters whining again however many from across the border when they are here can't believe the rot that 5aa produce in respect of 'pro' Crows and 'anti' Power commentary.

'Everything' and I mean everything that comes out of Cornsey's mouth is sooo negative it aint funny.

I think the club need to take a very hard look at the shite coming from that station as I am certain this is also having a negative effect on our memberships as anyone who may be fence sitting or uncertain re joining get absolutely no positive feelings coming from that sh!thole. It can't be helping our cause anyway!

Yeah, there's a huge irony in that. Beating the drum that we should be appealing to neutrals, while painting everything we do as wrong - while the other mob are more or less infallible.

Seriously, what would you expect from someone who played and coached his whole career against Port (in one form or another) and an ex Crow player. As a Crows supporter I fee the exact same way when I read all the Power dribble in the Advertiser (particulalry this week). Until either 5AA or the Advertiser have some local competition, things will never change.

G Cornes' opinion is not nearly as influential as G Cornes thinks it is and from what I've heard Rowe is

1. Better than I'd thought he'd be (granted low expectations)
2. quite good in football tactical knowledge
3. Talks Port up all the time anyway

Granted G Cornes seems to be aggressive/antagnostic towards Port this year, more so than ever, don't know why

There are so many football discussion options these days, 5AA loses more relevance each week, as does the Advertiser for that matter

Yeah, admittedly Rowe tries his best (although through gritted teeth) and attempts to be civil yet at least he doesn't come across with the absolute hatred that seems to emanate from G. Cornes.

You say results are the only thing that matters however as I stated before, it doesn't make it any easier to gain new members when the states 'unfortunately' leading radio station continually bags the team and everything it stands for. For every one positive comment GC makes about PAFC there is another 3 negatives, win...loose...or draw.

On a side note, I really don't know how Kane and/or Chad deal with it. Honestly if my Father disrespected the team I played for as Graham does I would be soooo pissed.
