I'd be happy to hold him and see if he has a change of heart based on how next season pans out. I get that we weaken our trading hand if we wait a year, but it might still be worth the gamble.

That was my immediate reaction to hold for another year but I’ve come around to just no… I’m over the rumours and having that cloud hang over the entire club is toxic. North should never pander to this type of bs.

Ask any one else who doesn’t want to be there to pop their hand up so we can deal them as well. One player doesn’t make a team, irrespective of where they were drafted… need committed players and those who buy in. Anyone else can gagf.

The final deal will probably be the Amon compo and the 22 frp and 23 frp.

I mean...

If they are saying that we get pick 2 (Cadman) and we get Port's F1 in exchange for JHF and PP2, I don't hate that deal.

Draft Wardlaw + Cadman. Get a potential top 8 pick next year.

Edit: I thought this was Port's in/out on a three team deal with WCE

As sad as it is if we could get another pick in the top 10 this year and a future first , I think we will probably accept it. I am not sure we will get a player as well . There is still a chance we don't do a deal and he stays too , but probably unlikely .

It's always the profiles I've never seen on the Port baord embarrassing themselves the most on the main board or other teams boards.

Its a s**t situation for you guys.

You'll get 2 first rounders plus out of this deal. Hopefully you nail them and it ends up a win-win.

Thanks for not coming on here to ridicule us. This tops off the toughest year I’ve ever experienced as a North supporter. We will be back stronger soon enough though!

You would hope the club is on the phone to the AFL tomorrow morning about the average pp we were given, 0 chance we get a future second and 3rd that has to be traded this year if Jasons request to head back to Adelaide after going pick 1 only 12 months earlier came weeks ago when the seasion finished

Let's send Ray Shoesmith. Those cronies at AFL house would soon get it.

Lol jfc.

Was never really on the messiah hype train so a bit meh from an on-field standpoint, but absolutely livid from an off-field perspective. Abandoning the club after one year at its lowest ebb is absolute rat behaviour, and this kid probably doesn’t realise how many bridges he is burning now as opposed to waiting until he’s seen out the initial contract. Have a feeling the karma bus is going to hit him hard at some point.

Also lol at Mav copping it all season because his “ITK” info wasn’t just stuff people were wanting to hear.

Don't believe the salaries that the media throws around... most are complete lies, exaggerations or half-truths.

Like perhaps he CAN make 800k per year if he fulfils a bunch of hard to hit KPI's.
What like taking regulatory ice baths?

I see another AFL rule change coming thanks to the NMFC. I’m thinking teams who lose drafted players inside of 3 years get access to any +24 yo on any list plus the extra salary cap to cater for the godfather contract offer. Subject to the AFL‘s secret herbs and spices stamp of approval of course. And naturally won’t come into effect until it doesn’t involve NM.

Rockets basketball starts tomorrow for 2022-23. Feel free to join me riding the highs and lows of a cellar dweller with some top picks who WON’T QUIT.

The risk is he request a trade next year again being not contacted you won’t get as much as you will this year. You hold the power this year. I think it’s brave to hold him to the contract but it will be brilliant if you can get him to stay long term. Again it’s a risk coz you probably won’t get x2 first rounders next year

If he has another so so year, there is no way 2 firsts will be offered. If the rumors surrounding Bonner are true, there is another decent pick on the horizon which could be used to satisfy WC (or at least make it look like we tried). 8 +8-12(2023)+27 is a massive bounty. It's miles over the points calculator for pick 1 and is clearly placing a premium on the fact he is still in contract. If he wants out uncontracted, you can just delete one of those 1st rounders. They will ask for 2 firsts + all the names you would expect and they wont get them. The only player that I would think would even agree to come is Bergman because of his brother. There is no reason for us to offer 2x1sts + Bergman without something hefty coming back. No player has gone for more than 3x 1sts. The rules around trading make it basically impossible to do it so that is basically the ceiling, no matter the contract or ability. 2x1st + 2nd is basically 1 step below Judd/Cameron trades. 25 yr old Neale didn't go for as much. Cerra didn't go for as much. Basically anyone that has paid that much for a player has regretted it.

The posturing and 'hur hur lets ask for butters +8+F1' isn't dealing with reality, because a) we don't do it and b) it gives us an out as to why we couldn't make the trade happen. That's the first thing that gets relayed back to JHF. None of that translates into North keeping him post 2023 or getting more for him next year. North aren't in a window, and they are very unlikely to keep him (and they likely know this). If we tickle their nuts a bit, they do a deal, because it's in their interest to. If North's recruiting team were as emotional as the people in here, North have more problems than anyone realizes.
