It’s a weird feeling. Normally I’d expect to be upset after this sort of news, but I’m completely ok with it. The only negative is the bad look of the number 1 pick wanting out after just one season. But that will be soon forgotten. The reality is he was never the right fit, never looked like he wanted to be here and these sorts of players can be cancerous around the club.

We hold the upper hand in the trade and if no deal can be reached it is he who has burned bridges and has backed himself into a corner.

Given we're not, and the last 2-3 years you've had, I understand why you are taking it more emotionally than is healthy for an adult and why you would leave yourself open to such an obvious comeback. Grew up right next to Arden Street and always had a soft spot for your club.

Just wanted to say that I hope you guys absolutely ream Port/Crows in a trade, you deserve it for the way JH-F has carried on this year. Completely gutless and for a bloke in his first year he seems to have a pretty high opinion of himself.

Needs to look at the way LDU goes about it. Worked through the tough years and now looks like a superstar.

Anyway, all the best and I hope the future looks a bit brighter than the last few years. Would love to see North back up there as a powerhouse club, it's good for footy.

It was a reference to why teams try to hang onto players who are in contract. If you finished 4th this year, you'd defend JHF to the death and would want 97 1st rounders. We're not in the window and will finish 6-10th next year with a better draw. That's also why we won't get kicked in the balls on a trade. There's no point selling the farm while we're still trying to grow the farm.

You've had 4 coaches in 3 years and the your great white hope might be banned or sacked before he ever coaches you and the player you thought was going to lead you out of the mire wants out after 1 year playing for you. You've tried for years to massively overpay stars to come and play for you, none of which have agreed, so you went and tried to grab a decent player in Polec, who we knew was close to cooked, which is why we wouldn't offer him 5 years, and you've been paying him 700k to play VFL for years. That and in the 2007 finals series that you think was so embarrassing for us, Geelong beat you by 106 points and then we knocked out out by beating you by 77 points. Does that just about cover it?
