Imagine you were working away in your job, for years on end. One day you get an offer to move interstate to another rival company. You ponder it for 6 months and finally make your decision to take the new job. Then one week from moving all your current workmates tell your boss to not let you leave because it will make their job that little bit harder, and they do, and you stay where you are with a bunch of people who made your life decision for you.

Are you breaking a contract to do so?

12 months ago were you making representations to some of them that they should come and join you and hit the future together?

Problem with that analogy is breaking a contract to work for a competitor.

Your job is your job, you still do what your team leaders ask you to do.

You got me on the breaking contract bit, they actually do matter in the real world compared to football world

A better analogy is that your colleagues wouldn’t have to ask your boss to make you stay as you signed a no-compete clause and the idea of letting you work for the competition would never be entertained.

The great Tom Browne reporting on Ch 7 news that progress has been made in trade talks and he should be a Swan by next Wednesday.

In that case you can take it to the bank that he's extended his contract by ten years.

certainly do if you are an ASX company CEO

Jake Niall (who is pretty good I reckon) reporting Essendon want a player. Doesn’t have to be a Swan, could be a three way deal

Pick 5 for Daniher then we on trade that pick 5 to the swans who on trade Daniher to us.

Us asking for a player is going to be tough for the swans if we want a player that we reckon is of equal value to Daniher. I just cant see us winning the trade in that way.

It sounds more like the club is going to make him stay by the day.
