Pick 5 for Daniher then we on trade that pick 5 to the swans who on trade Daniher to us.

Us asking for a player is going to be tough for the swans if we want a player that we reckon is of equal value to Daniher. I just cant see us winning the trade in that way.

It sounds more like the club is going to make him stay by the day.
He’s not staying. Accept this and it’ll make it easier

This would be soo counterintuitive given our list demographic and the strategy Disco has put in place to get us to this point.
Having teenagers on the field learning to play key roles, while the rest of the list is out to win each game is the almost like assembling a half pregnant list.

Whether we agree the list is capable or not is subjective and a different conversation.
The reality is the list is poised to strike right now, we need to be ALL IN on this or NOT IN at all.

In other words, if we trade Daniher, then push the hard reset button and trade Hooker, Hurley and Zaka (actually, trade zaka regardless) too.
We cant afford half measures any more..
I’d just like to say, Baby Bombers.

He won’t be leaving for that. If Sydney want him, pay more or stop wasting Daniher’s time.

An early one and early two is probably slightly overs for a guy who can't get on the park and your club isn't willing to offer a contract to. But Sydney are always easy to deal with so we'll probably agree to it out of good faith.

You don't need to offer a contract to a player who is already contracted. The only leverage Sydney have is putting forward a good deal... and based on your comment, Sydney have no leverage.

Clubs don't willingly let players enter the last year of their contract if they value them at two top 10 picks.

5 and 25 is the best you'll ever get for him, that's our leverage. I'd chuck in Sam Reid too if Joe leaves his mustache at Windy Hill.

If that was sufficient, Joe would be wearing Sydney colours by now. It's not.

If Essendon say it isn't enough, then Daniher will be staying at Essendon. What Sydney believe he's worth won't change that.
As far as we're concerned, he's a required player with a contract.

Joe's got a 2020 contract. This isn't another Tippett deal for you guys sadly. You can say what you want on here but you will be paying a hefty price for old mate who can't get on the park.

In this instance it is worth the risk of keeping him into his last year of contract. If it doesn’t work out and he walks as a free agent, we still get one of his best five years left in his career and a first round pick.

Two words for you upstart - Ryan O’Keefe.

If he stays another year can Swans afford a huge contract that will be too high for us to match? With Buddy due $1.5m next couple of years?
The AFL said you only need to match the length/money.

Also I’m pretty sure a 2 year is the contract minimum.

No way it gets to this.

If Sydney are trying to be sneaky they don’t offer a contract at all. Joe doesn’t sign bombers- gets delisted and then signs but also won’t happen (unless he does ACL in like final weekend of the year)

There's zero chance that happens. Every media outlet and every club would give Essendon their blessing to screw the Swans over.
