- A number 3 pick who has spent 6 years on the list developing.

- Just starts to arrive.

- We sell him for a compo pick

I won't be a member of this football club in 2013 if this happens.

Holy crap, 1st time ive seen him have his own opinion not recycle others (after ridiculing the original poster 2 weeks earlier).
Actually commited to something to, damn where is the vote for Hansen to go to GWS thread.

Wait i see it, he would claim we didnt sell him he wanted to move and worm out of his statements again :(

He will Saints.

We should be excited.

Lachie is about to come into his peak years, all in the Royal Blue and White.

I like your confidence, promising.

I think that is why I am/was a little concerned - other clubs might think he is ripe for the picking considering he about to do just that. If he left after us doing all the development, I would think many supporters (and the club) would be very ****ed off.

i think lachie is waiting for the results of his concussion investigation to be tabled,or maybe he is suffering from delayed concussion shock syndrome and is not capable of putting pen to paper yet,patience..............
are those twats planning to complete their 'investigation' any time before the 2013 season gets underway????

That's true, but big signings also (usually) mean interest from other clubs.

People closer than I am seem very confident he is staying - with HMac going it's even more important he signs up.
With Pedo and Hamish going we absolutely cannot afford to lose Hansen.

Big signings take time
Did lol, although I'm slightly drunk.

Now to be seriously, there's also the off chance that Lach has decided that although he loves it at the NMFC, he hasn't completely been satisfied with his output and a change may be the driving force to reach his own expected potential.

Thread has merit.

Agree YOTR :thumbsu:

We want to assume Hansen will stay, but then the longer it goes also raises questions along the lines you raised (as just one rationale). IMO the longer it goes is a worry.

Which supporters? The ones who have bagged the bloke for years on end?

Well, I think a few of those would have jumped on board DRoo.

In fairness it taken him a long time to show something which he did this year, even more reason I don't want another club nabbing him and our development being someone else's gain.

Im confident he will re-sign seeing he is effectively replacing drew at some point and a huge focal point for our forward line. Apart from money, surely there is no reason to go to GWS seeing Patton and Cameron are the future there.

BUT.. if he were to be going to GWS, when would be the earliest we would find out? Next Monday?

If he has committed to the GWS like Phil Davis, etc he would have already ammounced I think. There is no point waiting and this also opens money for free agency for the club- bigger for everyone. He may still be considering offers but Brad has showed heaps of trust in him so hard to see him leave now. He has also just started playing well and the list has heaps of growth.

Actually it didn't take him long at all. The bloke dominated our back half in his 3rd year just before his hamstring injury.

Can't agree. He was very disappointing for some time - really strong hands in the air (stronger than now actually), but basically nothing else.

Which is why now he is showing some very positive signs (and with the players leaving), we can't afford to lose him.

No he wasn't disappointing at all.

Yes he has been so far. As a comparison, its fair to say WCE supporters would keep Darling over Lachie.

It's the future which is important.

No he hasn't been disappointing. Clearly you haven't watched him closely enough.

What does the WCE and Darling have to do with anything?

Maybe the fact they are both KP players? Not that hard to understand DRoo.

We drafted what we hoped was a star. He has been ordinary compared to that level, which as I keep saying if he can step up we can't lose him now when he may just be the player close to what we hoped for.

Just because they are bot KPP doesn't mean it has any relevance to this thread.

So we drafted an 18yo kid from country Vic and said "You will be a star and if you aren't then that is your fault for not living up to my expectations of you"

Was Lachie's 2nd half of this year any better than his 2nd half of 2010?

Any player drafted at his spot is expected surely to be more than a VFL/AFL borderline player. With your attitude he should never have gone so early, but clearly he was viewed as something "special".

He is still cementing his spot at AFL level, hence why I think its importnat we don't lose him when he may just have something to offer.

As for his 2010/2012 - maybe it was pretty close. I still think he should be CHB but that is another discussion completely.

But whose expectations are they? His own personal ones or the clubs, the supporters, the medias?

He was the best CHB at his level and he was rightly picked in the right spot. But he didn't pick himself, we did so if we expect big things from him then we have to give him the tools and development to make that happen.

DRoo, I am all for not doing the "Watts" style caning purely for not living up to expectations. I've never bagged Hansen, and agree his selection is not his fault. That's why I want to keep him.

BUT.... at no 3 he has been very disappointing - Judd went no 3 as a blunt/harsh example. I'm not sure how you rate players, but after the years at the club he should almost be a leader now. He is arguably just best 22, which is why it's his time to give something back as he hasn't done near enough so far based on why the club recruited him.
