Struggles for to long in games imo

Goes quarters without a touch

Probably a 3rd tall atm

This isn’t bagging him

His literally a 21 year old 195cm tall forward.

Will take development, but his building a nice frame already, 95 kilos and will stack a bit more on there.

Will easily be a first line key position forward if he stays fit.

His performances have been great as well for someone who is developing.

Needs a preseason with Popeye. I want him to start holding his position better in the one on ones when we bomb it in there.

Still on a trajectory to be a 40+ goal kicker next year.

he is about 70-75 goals short of where I expected this year

High hff

I think Punts might be right. Endurance, athleticism and skill might be more his thing than strong contested marking. Hopefully one of Amartey or McLean can fill that role (jury is out on that still)

Nothing wrong with being more of an athletic leading half forward than a forward who plays out of the square. Nick Reiwoldt made an okay career out of it.

He's a high running CHF, not a stand in the goalsquare FF. Riewoldt was always a strong mark but couldn't kick. Logan is closer to Buddy, uses his athleticism to get the ball.

I feel if he gets a bit bigger he will be able to take his marking game to where it needs to be without losing much agility.

I'm expecting a big year from him next season

Yes they start 6 6 6 but it basically is about having a mix of marking targets and crum types really.

If Heeney is basically the full forward and you have Mcdonald with Hayward Mclean Amartey . I think that's plenty of marking power.

Papley and Wicks or similar , then Parker more time forward

Maybe I am crazy but I think that's all coming together well and Mcdonald can lead it

that's exactly how i see our forward line
and you can see, just in the past few weeks, how important heeney and hayward can be when in form
both are nightmare matchups for mobility and marking strength when opposition marking defenders are focused on the big three (or amartey/mcdonald if mclean is rucking)
without needing to labour the bleeding obvious point, the absence of franklin is a bigger headache for opposition coaches and defences than it is for us

I was intrigued to see Logan playing far up the ground and getting involved around the stoppages early in the Crows match. Have we seen that from him before? It was exciting, if only because of the novelty value, but he was also a bit handy. His stat line, someone surprisingly for a KPF, reads 11 disposals of which 5 were contested, and 5 tackles. Plus one goal and 7 score involvements (team high). Great to see us using him in new and interesting ways and building his versatility, particularly since he isn't a stay at home full forward anyway.

Pav reincarnate.

i think he's more nick riewoldt, but he's going to be a star ... he seems to fire up if something doesn't come off for him, and charges into the fray determined to have an impact
he's very athletic, and showed such composure and class to take that blakey pass, wheel around and goal from outside 50 ...
he's getting better every week

Yeah I was tossing up between Pav and Riewoldt and went with the former as he was better at ground level where Logan is starting to shine.

If he's a patch on either, we're in good shape!

Maybe he's just Logan McDonald .......................

He’s a great player, and inevitably seems to do the right thing when he gets the ball. Just classy.

He just needs to get more of it.

We really needed him to be more of a presence in that last quarter. I know a lot of the kicks coming out of defence from Gulden, Warner etc were shithouse, but I wonder how much of that was McDonald, Francis etc failing to present in the right spots.

but just the fact you're mentioning francis takes us to another big factor ... our constantly unsettled lineup
the fact francis was in the forward line at all meant we'd had to deviate from what the team would've mostly prepared for during the week
then take into account losing papley ... by the time the crows were building momentum and pressure was building on us in that last quarter, our planned structure was gone ...
that creates confusion, another contributer to mental fatigue in the last 10-15 minutes
i'm not making excuses, but there are several factors involved in a team (almost) giving up a 32-point lead under the circumstances of Saturday night

but yes, indeed, mcdonald is classy

yes, he is ... and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty ... he's a ripper
and you get the impression his teammates love him
As i do . Funny enough just after the draft i was working at a Hawthorn coaches place and Clarko was there and said they desperately wanted him as he will be special .
