I believe that they are going to name her Anderson.

Congrats Shagga ....better luck next time ;)

Great stuff Shagga, to you and your Missus. Congratulations and please try to get a decent night's sleep before Saturday will ya?

Naming her after our former number 5 is a great idea too......:)

Would of preferred Shagga name his daughter Alice...now that would be one helluva match !

That's a first name these days? Congrats to Shannon & partner, but geez that name's a shocker.

I was actually waiting for someone else to say that before I agreed ...

Same here sounds more like a last name to me and not a very nice one for a girl.

I love Jess Sinclair #9

I think it's fantastic - seriously, I love the trend of last names for children like Cooper and Anderson, I think there's a real class to it (provided you pick the right last name!) And I think it's a great name for a girl (she can always be called Andie or Annie)

It must have hurt.:D

With my limited knowledge of Anatomy (Male and Female), I'm guessing Shannon Grant's parnter had the Baby Girl and not Shannon Grant. Please correct me if I'm wrong.:D

Congratulation to Mr Grant and Partner.

Yeah, I agree, I think more of our current day players should be naming their children after our stars of yesteryear. I think Schimmelbusch Grant has a certain ring to it. And maybe Boomer could have gone with Briedis Harvey, or Skull could have given Krakouer Makepeace a go!

The options are endless

Where should we play him next year? To me his impact is great across HF but less than effective in the middle. He tires to play like Chris Judd without the tools.

To me, he is best running across the 50 shooting at goal or putting it on a chest on a lead from 60 out.

I am sick to death of seeing him think he is Daniel Harris and break tackles, one of which caused the final goal on Fri Night. Harro knows he can't kick 50, so he doesn't try, he passes. Surely Grant realises he isn't quick nor physically able to stand up in tackles, so why does he try?

Grima is my big hope next year and together with Harro, Simmo and Wells, I expect to be a great combo.

BTW, it is a concern that 2 of our highly paid players, Grant and Boomer, are looking more comfortable as HF than midfielders considering the talent and wage they are on. Contract negotiations should be interesting.

I don't think Grant is the problem, although I see where you're coming from with his preference for HF rather than the midfield.

Harvey and Petrie are the two main factors that are stopping the team from improving on last year IMHO.

Brown also took a giant step back after the split round. Ever since he was thrashed by Fletcher in the Essendon game he hasn't contributed at all.

The only players who took a step forward this season are Harris and Wells. Motlop took a small step forward and that's about it.

But I feel that Harvey and Petrie are the major reasons why we are only where we are.

Grant seems to have become a new whipping boy for Roo fans.

He will more than likely be our highest Brownlow vote getter, finish in the top 3 or 4 in our B&F and has generally been one of our most consistent players.

Grant will most certainly continue to be part of our midfield rotation for years to come.

UNless we are winning by 70 points, Grant is a HFF only.

He doesn't have the pace, agility, guts and willingness to run back, fill a hole or simply chase a man to be a truly effective onballer against real quality. He has lost a yard IMO, and because of this, those 5 or 6 times a game where he turns onto his left are now in slow motion.

He would kick 50 goals a year playing perm HFF.

He has given us some excellent service in the midfield, and it's true that he's lost a bit of pace. I agree with NorthBhoy that he would kick a bunch of goals as a permanant HF - he is still one of the smartest guys on our team around the goals, is still a beautiful shot for goal both as a set shot and on the run, and with guys like Harro, Wellsy and even Grima primed for a bigger role in the midfield next year, it might be time to play him across half forward for the majority of the time.

Not for roo fans who know what they are talking about (i.e. not Moti). Agree with everything you said here, he has been one of our better players for the year and is certainly not the problem.
