Maginness gonna be lucky to hold his spot on current form.Mitchell's no slouch. He'll have a plan for Luke, likely involving Maginness, and maybe also involving some physical work from Newcombe and co. I'd be focusing less on what Luke might do this week, though hopefully he has another solid one, and more on the chance for Cunners, Powell, Greenwood and (maybe) Phillips to really do some damage
No current season stats available
They were really put off by he's relaxed attitude and hobby of surfing. Didn't think he was serious about his footy - maybe there was truth to that with the slow burn (yes I'm aware of the personal circumstances and injury also)In a final against Dylan Moore, Jaidyn Stephenson, and the Eastern Ranges, LDU produced what's probably the best half of junior footy ever played.
We've seen some great finals performances recently from guys like Matt Rowell, and more recently both Ashcroft and Sheezel, but those were in mostly one-sided games. Davies-Uniacke was down 50 points at halftime and more or less single-handedly brought his team back to win. There's elite footballers, and then there's unstoppable footballers. LDU is closer to the latter and when we start playing big games he is going to be the difference maker.
Carlton going with Paddy Dow should be remembered as one of the worst draft mistakes of all time. It was hard to justify then, but it's impossible to justify now. You always have to go easy on interstate sides who pass on Victorians, as maybe LDU was viewed as a flight risk, so you can't blame Fremantle and Brisbane too much, but the Carlton selection is one of the worst of the past decade.
Larkey probably a bit stiff to miss. Four goals straight should get you a spot most weeks, at least on the bench.
We have some unique sayings for our game. Someone new to the game just asked me re Lloyds comments why would he want to sit on peoples heads ? lolHe was definitely right on this one![]()
yeah i dont think coaches just woke up yesterday and realized how damaging LDU is. He is strong, powerful, and has been very hard to tackle for a couple of years now. They might try to tag him, in turn Greenwood, cunners, or Zurhaar will block their tag. I really don't think negative tactics would work on LDU....better off trying to play to their own strengths. Newcombe found plenty of the pill when last we played.Maginness gonna be lucky to hold his spot on current form.
I'm not too worried about a tag on LDU. He's got the raw power to break away from stoppages and taggers that few players have.
We've also got a couple of people to put some heat on a tagger (Greenwood, Bull) and I'm sure the master will have a few tricks up his sleeve to counter anything the apprentice comes up with.
Great at 10-pin bowling too

Surprised he didn't get pinged for a pushMy favorite moment of that game, the push was one thing of beauty.
But that ball pickup, it was like watching him use the force to stand it upright for that smooth grab with one hand.

The funniest part of that whole ordeal is the Freo player, who sounds like a teen whose voice is breaking, squeak out a high pitched "deliberate" to the umps.On Monday night night on afl 360, they showed a wide angle of the final kick out of bounds and the subsequent minute of freo players pleading with the conferring umpires.
Everyone loves the Lmac “game over” confirmation.
But it was LDU that was first over to the umpires to represent north. And by some margin. He was there first and looked a little unsure of if he could talk to the umps. And it was probably 20 seconds later that it clicked for Lmac to get across and represent.
LDU definitely looked like a captain the way he got involved in that before anyone on our team even thought there might be an issue.
Our young players are now becoming men.We will no longer be the years 7 being picked on at school . Time for our players to start the bullying and intimidation. My favorite moment of that game, the push was one thing of beauty.
