He’s the only senior in the midfield (I don’t count jy as he hasn’t been around much this year) and when’s he’s on. They all are.

I love reading other clubs pages who all just declare they need to sign him up (and George). Big teams can just say - yep we will just take that guy off your hands, because you know, “crowds” and “ego”…. as if they are jumping off the only side that can absolute smash teams in a few years to another who have no youth or draft capital especially with tas joining the fray.

I dont know if my heart can take 18 months of stories about him receiving offers from other clubs or putting off contract negotiations.

I've never been surer of anything that we MUST keep him. I dgaf what it takes to keep him. We cannot afford to lose him. Offer him 10 years whatever the money or term just get it done.

We genuinely have no leverage in this negotiation so get it done NOW!!

In Euge we trust

Clarkson and Viney should be handling negotiations, not Rawlings and list management.

Sit down with him and sell him the vision, the build and explain how important he is to this groups future.

Very loyal bloke who needs to be made a fuss of and provided plenty of love. We simply must keep him at all costs, offers are going to come from everywhere.

We lose him, the rebuild is set back 3 years. We keep him then it lays the platform for those around him to stay.

I reckon we saw a glimpse of Clarkos relationships when we saw that footage of him commending ldu for getting to xerri after he made that tackle on Liam Ryan. Interestingly, LDU doesn't look that comfortable with praise. A proper humble lad.

I'm just glad ldu doesn't need to make the call until next year. Let's face it, he's had no support at North since he's been drafted and experienced very few wins. Its so important we start to show improvement - like we are now - and show him we have the talent to get back up the ladder, push for premiership success, and give him every opportunity to win a Brownlow medal.

It's not going to be purely money that gets him. He's getting a massive pay day regardless.

The only reason Luke would leave would be if we go backways again. If we keep improving, he certainly won’t leave. If we do go backways again, who really cares? It would be a disaster, regardless.

Well if we go backwards again next year, we're starting rebuild 4.0.....then cashing in on him would be our only option.

Fingers crossed we don't have to contemplate that scenario.

I have no faith in the corrupt AFL system.

I remember reading once in the Hun that Dusty made $300k+ one year signing memorabilia. Does that fall under the salary cap? I doubt it.

What about personal sponsorships and other business endeavours? More forthcoming when playing for the bigger clubs even if they are not competing.

And the campaigners at AFL would definitely support an exciting player like LDU on the “bigger stages”. Makes me ****en sick. ****en hate the AFL.

I want the fairytale so bad where LDU bucks all offers, stays with us and leads us to our next flag.

We have a good lever to pull with Luke. Next year would be a great time for him to take over as captain.
Had publicly said he wants to get his footy right before being included in the leadership group, he’s not going to leapfrog Larkey to be our next Captain.

🤣 You don’t reckon he’s gotten his footy right now? Anyway, I’m just spitballing, as they say. I’m just a “nuffy” who doesn’t want LDU to leave. Beyond that, I’m clueless.

On my feet with everyone else in the cheer squad area as he ran in to kick that goal last night, the happiest I’ve felt at the footy in a very long time.

From the Herald sun:

There’s a purity to how Luke Davies Uniacke plays. He has Chad Warner speed and swerve and Patrick Cripps’ power and balance. He is a dazzling player – he plays his 100th game this weekend – and always wants the ball in his hands. It’s why his next contract might make him the highest paid player in the game. He most certainly will be if he chooses to leave North Melbourne when his contract expires at the end of next year. The offers will be in the vicinity of $1.3 million, if not more, and even if he stays, the Kangas will cough up a million-plus. He’s endured plenty of hardship in his career, either with injury and a lack of success, but now as the wheel has turned, let’s hope he recommits to the club. In the past three weeks, he’s averaged 29 disposals, 14 contested, 10 ground balls, six clearances and eight score involvements. He is a mighty player.

His kicking inside 50 has been super as of late, really in a great patch of form. Hopefully helps lead us to a few more wins.
