Pretty big show in faith that he believes in the group going forward. Can only be a good thing for morale with everything going on at the club at the moment. Awesome news!

Next up.... Walsh.

GET. IT. DONE.

First time poster, long time reader of the forum, and what better time to join now the captain is signed on for another 6 years.

I've read this forum for years and at times it has served as a form of therapy for the on field disappointments, so I don't want my first post to come across as judgmental as I know everyone on here are long suffering, loyal fans who want nothing more than to see the club be successful, but surely this a positive day for the club.

As we shouldn't we don't know much about the contract terms other than the length which can only be positive in the context of us supporters wanting players to show loyalty to the cause.

Living in Perth I've had to listen all year long to uninformed, boorish drivel from mainly West Coast Eagles fans about how "Cripps will return to WA to play for a successful club blah blah blah", so at the very least this will put an end to that, and at best its Cripps making a definitive statement that he sees better times ahead at the club.

Obviously they need to start winning more consistently, and hopefully the review will go some way to addressing some of our deficiencies, but in the interim hopefully this will give the club a lift that it so desperately needs at the moment.

I'll give my views on other issues on the appropriate threads over the course.

Cheers to you all!

Great news for the club and its supporters. Continuing the trend of every required player re-signing with the club since the re-build began.

Herald Sun claiming that it was negotiated from 5 years at $900k to 6 years at $800k, the club basically gets an extra year for $300k, Good result for all IMO.

Would love to have Walsh extended before seasons end, but with so many OOC players it might make it tough.

I'm staying out of the main thread - way too much negativity there. Love seeing the positivity in this thread. I know Crippa hasn't performed up to his standards this year, but from a statistical perspective:

CrippaJosh Kelly
Disposals24.625.6
DE%67%71%
Contested Possessions13.19.2
Clearances5.53.6
Tackles5.14.5

Same draft class, 10 picks apart (Kelly at #3, Crippa at #13)

Yet, media personalities are more than happy to suggest we go hard at Kelly on a multi-year high salary deal. Cripps has been talked of as struggling. Statistics show otherwise. He hasn't been huge, but he has been more than serviceable.
