Shane Woewodin says hello. To be fair the previous record was held by Ollie Wines, who is probably one of the worst Brownlow medalists this century. Someone will probably break Cripps' record within the next decade.
Yeah them Priddis and Wines stand out as poor choices. The rest are gunsShane Woewodin says hello.
Actually so does Adam Cooney.
Let’s just remember this when talking about Sam Walsh yeah

Yeah but it’s nice that Crippa has triumphed over adversity. I thought his message was clear last night. Players expose themselves to criticism by playing the game. I think he was telling them to ignore the criticism and strive to be your best version. If you achieve that then you haven’t got anything to worry about. This is actually how Cripps looked at one point. That's why his resurgence is such a testament to the man.
Yeah it all comes back to that one constant he's had since day dot - that incredible willpower and mental strength, and the desire to improve in every facet. It was hard to see how he would be able to have that resurgence. He was beaten up. He played injured a lot. Others like Walsh threatened to usurp his dominance. He was slow.
Yes, somehow in his late 20s, he has improved his pace, but lost none of his power. He bursts from stoppage. He racks up goal assists and goals.
His mental strength to get to contests and inspire his team to lift is incredible. His is not a game that should be getting better as he gets older ... but here we are.
Think most of us understood he was playing through literal back fractures and other injuries. Hardly able to move for a coach that was diabolically bad.... Yet still fighting....This is actually how Cripps looked at one point. That's why his resurgence is such a testament to the man.

My point is, he was injured…just like Walsh has been, and there’s plenty getting stuck into Walsh this season and there were plenty wanting to move Crippa on at the time on this forum.
If the guns are moderately healthy they will play as guns, if they’re not playing well then generally they are physically unable to play well.
Really no different to any level of talent in any player, look at our injury list for the last 5-6 years no chance to win premierships with that schemozzle

I was never super ticked off by those sorts of media comments. It's the fans that ran with it and said therefore we should trade him 'while we can' that got me.... :/
Footy Classified barely acknowledged the record breaking win by Crippa. Mud Guts McGuire referred to Daicos as the coaches champion and Cripps as the umpires champion. Dirty scumbag of a show.Too fat, too slow, too injured, game has gone past him.
12 x 3 votes games and record 45 votes.
Watching oppo supporters sook it up has been almost as much fun as enjoying Cripps Brownlow win.
Throw Cerra into this group as well.I think the point being made with Cripps at the time, and Walsh this year is ... if they are injured, don't play them. The adage rings true, if you cross that line you are fit and expected to perform.
At least the fans would understand that if these guys are out for half the season, we can't expect to be winning games as frequently.
Get them fit before playing them.
So after 0 votes in our win in round 0 Crippa got 10 best ons and two X 2 votes in our other 12 wins. That's right, 34 of a possible 36 votes in our last 12 wins.Too fat, too slow, too injured, game has gone past him.

We were told he was playing through things. The mattress and mummification by sports tape told us plenty to did they not? I don't need the sun to burn me to know it's hot. So his performance dropped off - it's raining in Sydney today. I don't need a weather man to tell me the sun still exists and is just not visible. Not gonna defend intentional ignorance and short sightedness. Just as it annoys me re cerra and Walsh at the moment. We were told he was fit. You can't blame fans for judging performance based on him being fit.
He simply should not have been playing.
Coaches don't even vote. Bevo and Chris scott haven't for years.I find this funny and it shows his own personal bias. When Craig McRae is handing Nick Daicos 10 coaches votes in games that many other players in the game played better, then it’s a bias award. All coaches favour their own players in the voting, even ours. Not that I don’t think 45 votes was a bit much, but let’s not act like the coaches award isn’t a bias award.
I wonder why Chins stopped short of acknowledging Bont who won the players award.
I've been having fun with a few that are going with that rhetoric.Footy Classified barely acknowledged the record breaking win by Crippa. Mud Guts McGuire referred to Daicos as the coaches champion and Cripps as the umpires champion. Dirty scumbag of a show.
I’ll never get twitter, but if I did, the only reason would be to follow DerekOutstanding performance by Crippa.
ND needs to be banned from ever attending a Brownlow again. His tux was so bad it reached the attention of the pre-eminent international voice on twitter for menswear, @dieworkwear (famous for takes such as George Costanza style icon) who commented on the dangers of the shawl collar.
Made me look it upOutstanding performance by Crippa.

It's true. He was clearly physically cooked constantly. Had about 6 rolls of tape on his body alone, yet still put himself out there, only to be thrown under the bus by the outgoing coach suggesting he was fully fit and just putting it on.This is actually how Cripps looked at one point. That's why his resurgence is such a testament to the man.
