Remember the people that said he would struggle at the GC without any superstar teammates taking the pressure off and blocking for him? Tonight is the reality. He doesn't need any help.

Swan has had the best season but Gazza has shown he is the best player in the comp, has had no help what so ever and his 3rd quarter has been brilliant.

no offense to Swan but he has recieved a lot of his ball tonight, not his fault he is playing in the better team and can afford the luxury.

Remember the people that said Geelong wouldnt skip a beat if he left because they have such great midfield depth? Tonight is the reality.

Yep. Best player in the comp by a decent margin. Although a fit Judd would give him a run for his money.

If they continue to be forced to handpass around in little circles he should notch up 50.
Out of the amassed possessions he was bound to get a few of them to count for something, too many have been short handpasses because the pies are all over them not for his lack of endeavour.

Surely the best player in the competition is the man who's had the best season? Swan's consistency over the course of the season has been phenomenal and he's been very good again tonight.

As good as Ablett's been tonight he hasn't been the competition's best player as he was in 08 and 09. Top 2 or 3 but Swan best and easy.

He's had the best season and deserves the mantle as the competitions best at the moment but I still consider Ablett and Judd better players.

His reaction after the game makes it seem as if it may have been his last game. Or he could just be absolutely shattered.

Leaving or not I expect that he would have looked like that. It's that sort of passion and drive that makes him so good (yes, he has a bucketload of talent too, but that's useless without drive).

He was everywhere tonight. The one thing that kept Geelong not looking like a complete rabble tonight was him.
