Apologies to the fine mods, if this needs to be moved, merged incinerated - all good.

While I respect and admire all in Sunbury in the RCT - thought it would be good to have a thread for the less intense topics of the world.

------------

Will kick things off - after years of neglect - giving the courtyard a good weed and got a cheapo pressure washer that's done a fine job. Want to pull up some pavers to remove some power cords that were left by previous owners. Anyone used Pavelock or similar material? Hearing mixed reviews about stuff from Bunnings.

Gap Sand/Pave Lock

Specific mix of sand & cement to lock pavers in place.

There's old concrete here that my pop laid in the 1950s or earlier. Its still good mostly but some small cracks here and there. Its got fine quartz gravel all thru it. Finer than what they call cracker dust at a quarry.

Do you reckon you could fill the cracks etc with that pavelock stuff and add some of the quartz or does it need to stay consistent to work?

No one I speak to seems to know.

I wouldn't think so. It's more like sand than mortar. Some parts of my pavelock have dried rock hard but others are a bit sandy depending on moisture levels and the weather. Being sandy you also need to top it up over time.

I think you can get some concrete patch repair products or some caulk that is like a mortar as well which might work for your purposes.

Look into concrete crystals ferbs, i have successfully used them in tanks to seal them. They do well to fill voids. Expensive though but dont need a lot for fine cracks.

You could fill it with quarry run/Cracker Dust (no relation)
Little bit of water and run it over with a compactor and it won’t move unless something underneath does

You don't mean the actual dust off the cracker do you, just under 5mm?

Believe it or not the actual dust off a cracker is one of the best things you can put on your garden, especially if you add it to your compost.

Very fine graded crushed rock

Edit: Think it’s a WA thing, Quarry Fines/Dust = Cracker Dust

Usually is high in fines but given it’s rock it won’t shrink or deviate when put in

Just thought about it too Ferbs, why don’t you mix your own pavelock by mixing cement with the Quartz?
