No, you've just been shite instead.
Is Porthos still here?
Not shite enough to secure Scully and Trengove though.
What's Porthos' take?

What's Porthos' take?
Oh well.
No idea.
What will the compensation for losing Scully be? This is where I am likely to be sympathetic. Port and the Crows got screwed with Krakouer and Bock, can imagine Dees are going to get bent over too.
Scully is worth at least what Geelong got for Ablett.
I'd agree with that, but surely that can't happen given the formula the AFL have for deciding compo?
I think it will be a first round pick but not until the mid teens and that's at best. I'm over it all though, I just want him to announce it one way or the other and get it over and done with. It will at least put us all out of our misery.
If we were getting Jack Viney at the end of this year through F/S with that pick then we would be doing much better but we have to wait an extra year for Jack to come through. We'll get what we are given and what can we do about it? Nothing. We just need to move on.
But I don't want any sympathy from anyone. People in this thread saying they "don't have my sympathy" or "I don't feel sorry for them" are just wasting their time. We don't want it anyway.
An end of first round pick would be grossly inadequate. Surely it would be at least the equivalent pick given up to secure Scully? (if the pick is held over until the GCS and GWS dont get first dibs on all the draft talent that is)
I dont know the formula. But didnt they change the formula for Geelong anyway?
howA very fair point, but kinda makes it hard to feel sorry for you if Scully walks, no?
how
Karma would mean they lost Trengrove - Scully was going to melbourne regardless of the extra win or not
and I love the morons that think a side that was cleary the worst of the competion and bottom on the ladder one year could 'tank'
Its a myth
Yep Scully will be a star but what's he done to be worth the same compo as Ablett?
It SHOULD be but I have a feeling it isn't. Scully has shown time and time again that he has all the talents to be a superstar of this game and that an equivalent pick would be the correct compensation, but sadly, the AFL don't see it that way. They want to build GWS up as another powerhouse like the GCS and that's the way it is. I could belly ache about it until the cows come home but what can I do?
He hasn't gone yet though.
Exactly. A myth beat up by the media and run with by the clowns that frequent this board. But that's BF as we know it.
And how were we livid about rischi and brennen leaving and then bagging other supporters who are now - hypocrites much?
I've seen plenty of Melbourne supporters on here who are convinced that the club deliberately lost games.
Brock McLean is also convinced.
Taken with a far higher draft selection and is several years younger than Ablett.
Ablett has been recognised as one of the AFL's elite midfielders, being awarded many of the league's highest individual honors, including the prestigious Brownlow Medal, the Leigh Matthews Trophy as the AFL Players Association's Most Valuable Player a record three times, and been selected to four All-Australian sides, once as vice-captain. He is a dual premiership player. He has won three AFL Coaches Association 'Champion Player of the Year' awards, and a several media awards including the Australian Football Media Association Player of the Year award. At a representative level, he was selected to captain Victoria in the AFL Hall of Fame Tribute Match
Brock McLean left because, as it's seen this year, he wasn't in our plans going forward and he knew it. Just look at him now - we saw this a few years ago and told him he wouldn't be a walk up start, so he left. I'm quite happy with that.
I am quite confused why you are giving a synopsis of Brock McLean's career post-Melbourne. How is this relevant to the discussion. What is relevant is that in September 2009 in an interview with SEN he said that Melbourne tanking wasn't just a rumour, it was "reality".
You said you want the insight of people who were involved in the club, well Brock McLean was there.
