Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

If he leaves (as widely reported), what will Freo get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st rounder

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other 2nd round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

We've been super keen on bringing him back to Vic since the moment he was drafted, yet for some reason as soon as he was available we pulled out.

At a guess, Carlton must just be willing/able to pay more than we can.
Richmond probs didn’t want to be part of the circus carryon that is going on.
Just let the race run keep in contact with manager and when that race is in the final stages
come on the outside without a lot of noise.

That’s amazing. That’s the type of kicks Dusty does inside 50, so having two of them would be nice
It was actually better than Dusty's famous effort in that there was an intercept and he evaded two tackles before making the kick.

I bet half the nuffs on here saying Cerra is not worth anything more than a mid first rounder wouldn't have even seen him do this sort of thing before.

Oh, and he's 21...with elite durability...and impeccable character/work ethic.

How much would you say he’s worth?

If I'm Carlton, anything under your first and second I'd consider a win.

To me, he ticks so many boxes for an elite mid...the only thing that he doesn't possess is elite breakaway speed, although his overall pace is fine.

He's glorious off both feet, is still getting stronger in the contest, has amazing vision and the courage to hit the type of kicks that break games apart.

He's as close to risk free as you'll get for a potential trade.

I think he'll eventually go for your first and a bit on the side. What that bit will end up looking like will depend on a number of things and probably be entirely forgettable 12 months down the track.

The thing about Richmond is that I get the feeling they will not be willling to give up their first pick (7) for Cerra but more so their first rounder they got from Geelong plus probably a second rounder.

So I am not sure if Richmond being interested works in Freo's favour either, from a trade perspective

With regards to trading of picks, I firmly believe in quality over quantity.

Carlton btw are not getting pick 10 for SPS btw that is just ridiculous.

I would be amazed if he chose Carlton over Melbourne.
Surely he wants to play finals.
Melbourne simply cannot get a deal done.

Anyhow with Cerra, we are as good a chance of finals next year as anyone.

Its exciting being a destination club !!!

Id prefer Melbourne thanks
More chance the deal falls over and he ends up pick 1 in the PSD.
slim slim slim chance.
But im gonna dream it.

Yeah, I think what you're hearing, is the same as what we've been hearing for the last week or so.
Just waiting to see a) if there were other options for both Cerra and Freo, b) Coach announced and talked with, and maybe also c) B&F with his good mates is Oct 2nd.

No harm in dreaming I suppose. Would probably feel the same if I was a North fan :)

I understand your excitement. He’s a very good youngster.

It looks like Carlton is the only club that has the ability and willingness to offer a top ten pick for him and therefore should be in the box seat to land him.

Would be devastating for their supporters if he nominates another club from here.

I’d love him but for no more than a late first and an early second, and less than $700k a year. For him to get to us on these terms would be highly unlikely.

I still think it's as likely he gets to Melbourne or Richmond as Carlton.

Would love him but decent assistants are my no1 requirement this off season.
Id guess in that order.
Melbourne make finals without him
Richmond are more likely to jump back into the 8 next year than Carlton.
