I'm absolutely clear on what she meant, she said ya big ape, I've said it to my brother who is so white you need sunglasses if he takes his pants off and I meant ya big bozo..
Just tell me who are the racists when the normal interpretation is abandoned because of skin colour?
But oh no we have to believe a 13 year old girl from the country chose an obscure insidious racial insult instead of it's more common usage
looks like this girl has done Big Footy no favours. she may well have apologised and moved on but she has exposed Big Footy's Red Neck underbelly like never before. Out they come in droves like the arseclown above - defining "ape", bemoaning PC and lefties, sobbing about nanny states. Exactly the same every time someone gives them a green light. the funny thing is they all say the same things and think they make it up. they are incapable of an argument without the standard play book.
If you call a white man a niga is it racist?
If you call a black man a niga is it racist?
If you call a white man an ape is it racist?
If you call a black man an ape is it racist?
So much ignorance in this thread
Yeah, that's why I did it
Goodes told the Melbourne Herald Sunafterwards that, 'Racism had a face...and it was a 13-year-old girl - but it's not her fault,' said Goodes.

Way to nail the real issue
that part was already selectively quoted
In the context of the current situation at hand, that is its meaning
Did you read the article?Goodes told the Melbourne Herald Sun afterwards that, 'Racism had a face...and it was a 13-year-old girl - but it's not her fault,' said Goodes.

You are clearly just an ignoramus that doesn't read past a headlineCan't even take these Sydney supporters seriously, they aren't debating race, they are just supporting their player, pathetic mate.. pathetic
She didn't say oaf, she said ApeFine a 13 year old girl from the country meant a despicable racial slur when she called him a big ape, she didn't mean anything innocent like big oaf or anything like that, she's the devil incarnate and Adam is our hero.. seriously if you can't put aside your team preference on this issue don't bother polluting the debate
Educated people doJust keep supporting your player mate, nobody takes you seriously
The reaction to a mistake made by a child is more frightening than the mistake made by the child. It's funny that. The counter-arguments / railing against political correctness, etc. seem pre-programmed too. I'm sure that everyone who has done so in this thread consider themselves free thinkers though, right?
I find it hard to find any sensationalism towards the girl, quite the opposite

"Young" Is an age?So much for all the people saying he couldn't have known her age at the time.. next excuse???
'That's what hurt me so bad... when I turned around, I just saw this young face and... it was just sad.
'That's why I had to leave the arena, it just broke my heart.'

I think you should back trace through the discussion I was having.I find it hard to find and sensationalism towards the girl, quite the opposite
Educated people do
This might be hard to comprehend, but racism is judged by the person receiving, not the person giving. An educated person wouldn't assume the girl made a racist remark using that word

Yep, I guess we should all just "man up"I have seen more support for the girl in this last 15 pages then I have seen support for Goodes
Only people now the facts are out that are still supporting Goodes is Swan supporters
Its sad you blokes can't man up and admit it was pathetic and he just wanted his special moment in history he got it alrightbeing a finger pointing grown man who burned a 13 year old in front of the nation
