Genuine question: Do people actually believe Clarkson is currently a good coach? Hasn't done anything for 6 seasons, gone backwards in fact.

It'd be akin to asking Malthouse, Blight or Pagan for one last hurrah. We all know how those tenures ended.

Seriously, game looks to have gone well past him.

Please stop mentioning him. Do. Not. Want.

Completely agree... I only laid off him because he's a rookie recruit that has snagged four All Australians. It's fair to say that by anyone's measure, that's been a good return on investment. But yeah, ever since his last big contract, his performance has been dwindling. I'd be interested to know what sort of effort he puts into training, because he consistently looks like he is out of shape, but relies on his talent and good game sense to coast. It's not good enough for a professional athlete.

Good return on investment?

He's our highest paid player this season on over a million.

What return has he provided this season?

I would imagine more than 1 person would have suggested that reasonable suggestion. Something is seriously rotten in the club, to roll over and give, not tackle, not chase, no defend, not change anything up playing at the MCG, hurns 300th, finals on the line, against collingwood… go watch the press conference, Simpson is a dead man walking
Sacking a coach the day after a loss, with his record and with a team still in the 8 is not a "reasonable" suggestion.

It's a knee jerk reaction which stinks of desperation.

Hey Bam-bam, where have any of those posters said Simpson is better than Clarkson?

You haven’t learned from the other day, you’re insisting on thinking that anyone saying “no thanks to Clarkson” is defending Simpson. They’re separate questions.

One might say The_Gambler is preparing to double down.

I don’t find that to be the case at all and receiving life advice from you is about as useful as listening to Hitler.
Stock standard response from you as expected.

Do you have anything of value to contribute to this discussion other than petty insults?

Godwin’s Law in full effect.
Simpson definitely has to study hard on the Goodwin‘s Law with a double o because Simon is coming to attack. We better be proactive this time.
By the way, the Demo has modified their running game to a bit more kick and mark since 2018 final. This might suit our game style better.

Despite being 7th, West Coast's premiership chances look extremely slim.

With an ageing list and a recent history of blowout losses, could Adam Simpson find himself fighting for his job?

On "Despite being 7th, West Coast's premiership chances look extremely slim":
1. Robert Walls and the wiseman say: zero chance.
2. Eagles‘ fans wish: 100% chance.
3. Random Walk Theory predicts: 6.25% chance winning the premiership.

The off season needs some very tough decisions to be made and I dont think some of these will be popular.

Josh Kennedy retire to allow Oscar Allen to take the reigns. Oscar is a genuine power forward but hasnt been given the opportunity with JK and Darling.
Shannon Hurn to retire, has given us amazing service to the club. We trust Alex Witherdon whose had injuries this year to come in and take his spot.
Mark Hutchings to retire as well.
Venables, we did the right thing by him but he hasn't played in 2.5 years, he will have to be delisted.
Nathan Vardy, sign him for one year but on a reduced contract, hes just a back up. Would be on 300k just a guess, reduce that to 175k plus match payments, free up some cap.
Brayden Ainsworth - Has shown hes not up to AFL standard and his disposal is suspect. Delist
Andrew Gaff - Do we go to him and say, we will trade you back home if you want too. This would attract a first round draft pick giving us 2 1st rounders and 2 second rounders for the draft which will energize the list.
We have 2 new recruits for 2022 and they are on our list. Jarrod Cameron and Willie Rioli. Imagine a forward line of Rioli, Cameron and Ryan.

HOW WE COULD LOOK LIKE ROUND 1 2022

ROTHAM BARRASS WITHERDON
COLE MCGOVERN SHEPPARD
DUGGAN YEO SHEED
CRIPPS DARLING PETRUCELLI
RYAN ALLEN RIOLI
NIC NAT KELLY SHUEY
I/C WATERMAN L EDWARDS, B WILLIAMS Reddan
SUB CAMERON
EMERG. Brander Ah chee C.West Nelson
Agree with all of this but id push hard to trade gaff and delist vardy.

Your just interested in dragging out the inevitable, most coaches move on after 8 or 9 years. It’s no shock, the ability to motivate wavers.
