It's par for the course, we played like that for the majority of last season as well apart from a couple of games late in the year
Those 3 games made me believe and I thought we do some damage come finals team

Only damage was to the family cat

And then came the match committee and Mitch Brown to the rescue.
I know you don't like me bringing it up but that selection still makes me angry.
Only reason is because it angers me too.

But seeing zero flexibility again early in 2017....go for your life

They're certainly not trying much of anything outside the box are they, just more of the same shuffling of veterans in and out of the side. Watch Nelson get dropped for Butler this week.
Microwave will be at the ready if that happens.

Like Nelson ...but dood get rid off that haircut and band ...I'm semi serious harden up mate - you like a girl

I like the half backs of Nelson Yeo and jetta ...adds pace

Butler isn't in our best 22 but hes more than handy when someone gets inured which they will

Darling to the ruck huh... meh he's just a bit too short for mine, would barely compete.

194cm you'd think is a minimum to be giving a chop out, think Andy Otten at Adelaide right now.

It's not as if Darling is blessed with a high leap or anything, and his mobility seems to be waning the longer he's got into his career.

I agree something has to change with Darling though. Mackenzie to ruck? Mackenzie to play 2nd tall forward? Hurn to lose his captaincy? Yes.

He's harder than 80% of our B22 already.

Darling needs to focus on getting his bike...hes not great at body work in a contest

he has hard hands also ...goes at the ball with hard hands and drops easy marks

Ive always felt darling is big half forward not a true centre half forward and when I said that here I was shouted 3 years ago, I stand by that. Ruck...no his verticle leap isn't great and he lands poorly making him vulnerable to injury

smaller rucks have to leap higher making them vulnerable to knee and ankle injuries.

Schofield is worth a go in the ruck he's same height as Petrie. Has a defensive and offensive side to his game

Can be used to go on the opposition Ruckman when they rest forward he knows the game plan well particularly defensive setups when down there

With vardy and Schofield rucking will most likely lose taps etc but they could definitely exploit some lumbering rucks with there athleticism and speed around the ground

hate to criticise hair styles but seriously ..harden up was reference to hair cut only ...like him so settle ok

image and projection does play a part in confidence in my view ....get a hair cut son
All due respect dave123

This is a ridiculous post.

Lol pat footy alias?

Agree completely. Schofield around the ground would be like an extra midfielder with his agility and pace , perfect second ruck in my opinion. Try Gov forward as well, but he is needed down back as our number 1 defender. So that means Emac and Schofield both come in for Darling ( Im at a loss what to do with him ) and Giles. Simmo just doesn't seem to want to try different strategies.

Its time to unleash Gov in the ruck to give a chop out, it is our best setup and we can afford to have him out of the backline for 5 mins a quarter.

Was a bit concerned listening to him on 6pr last night

When asked about Jetta's poor form he couldn't wait to spring to his defence under 'team balance'. Conversely, didn't sound too keen on bringing Sheed straight back either, even after 37 possessions in the WAFL

What is going on

Agree with this. His work ethic has been inconsistent, yes - but I think he is being poorly used. He doesn't seem to understand his role in the side.
Last week the commentary guys were urging him to run and take on his opponent when he had the chance but he just didn't. Either the game plan or set up didn't allow it or that injury that kept him out was affecting his confidence to sprint?

Interesting that Watson is now being played forward in the WAFL with some time in the middle. Would like to see what he coyld do as a defensive HFF and take Jetta"s spot. Has pace and can get a bit more of the ball, play back or forward. His form has been pretty decent as well.

Agree
Would be great if Watson built a tank ,I think he may be more effective up around the midfield the way he reads the play and competes for the ball ..
