No I think I could do so much better than who is coaching / recruiting / strength and conditioning.

Good to see the Simpson fan boys hanging strong. Eagles kick 4-6 goals in a match. Fanboys: those boys deserve an achievement award and Simpson needs a contract extension
I like your confidence and could you please share with us your credentialed resume on where you acquired said skills.
Nothing too elaborate.......Teams you have Coached, which have won premierships.
Coaches you have studied under at AFL level etc.
Just the hard facts will do, and maybe a photocopy pasted here of your credentialed Coaching certificate.
Take your time, we have all day.

My only concern with Simpson staying on is his existing relationship with players and his reluctance to make some hard decisions. I’ve no problem with his coaching ability as such.
I don't disagree with anything you said but i am speculating that those decisions are not solely his?
W.C have basically been run by the same head honcho's for 30 odd years and i would say that they have quite a major say, rightly or wrongly, in a lot of decisions.
If anybody knows differently out there please correct me.

Simmo is the meat in the sandwich, in an organisation that is stale and devoid of leadership from the top. Remember our highest priority is to be a nice community member. Remember the three years of continuous excuses and deflection of accountability.

Yeah, i think W.C is stuck in the 90's when we were good, and there was a certain way of doing things. Somebody needs to give the hierarchy a memo that it is now 2022.

I feel like he is pretty slow to react game day.

doesnt try much.

I feel Simmo is a good coach not a great one, pretty much just has one trick up his sleeve once that fails then he scrambles to find a solution.

I think he's very good with the big picture of the game but he doesn't seem to be great at seeing issues on game day and making changes on the fly in response to the opposition moves.

If anything our game day moves seem detrimental more often than not, releasing tags that were having impact seems to be really common. We don't generate any more drive and the (now un-)tagged player goes on a game breaking tear!

Genuinely think he can coach and he has proven that. It is a hard gig being a coach no matter what the level let alone the AFL.
But I do think he has over rated his list and even more importantly the character of the list. Not a lot of I will do anything to win players playing for us and I genuinely think it is beaten out of them a bit. We would rather look good and lose than look bad and win. You need Luke hodge type character that not only wins but also rubs the opponents face in the dirt. All good teams need a few of these.
We did well to win in 2018 without that type of player, we got lucky I think but we won none the less.
Simmo has still a career at another club in my opinion.

I think I could have the % greater than 50. Why is the sack Simpson thread being taken over by fan boys, and way are Fan boys clapping about the worst season in club history? Oh that’s right we won the flag in 2018. Hooray. Looking forward to you all going missing very soon

I think Yeo is/was that guy for us, we just can’t keep him on the track. I get what you’re saying, though - makes me think of our ‘private school boy/stable family’ recruiting preferences when I see Jones, who grew up in foster care, tackling to hurt campaigners. He plays like someone who’s never been handed anything in his life. We could do with a few more of these types.

O.K.....Thanks for that reply. Your knowledge of the game precedes you.
This Fan boy now knows where you are coming from. 1653105781884.jpeg

So where's the changed game plan that we were all hearing about at the start of pre-season. We were supposed to be playing a more direct quicker game which relied on run and carry. We bought in two of the best midfield coaches to sort out our stoppage differential and have done nothing but go backwards ever since. The club has done nothing but blame it on COVID and injuries but I'm yet to see a modicum of change.

It is changing. Last weeks game was better pressure and run and carry. It takes time to change game plan's.
Chopping and changing personal every week does not help progress. It will take a season, at least.

100% spot on, and no real efforts to develop young players outside a handful of games at the start of the year for hough. Sadly a few of this board like Simpson are delusioned enough to think we could still make the finals and contend next year with status quo.

Find one person who’s said that.
