Adam Simpson stating that we have to get fitter and healthier at his press conference is surely a justifiable reason to release him from his contract immediately. They are a prerequisite for any professional sporting team to be competitive. It is half way through the season. He should have ensured that the whole list was as fit as possible. The numbers of players not available due to Covid is unbelievable. I would guess that the number of absences is well above the average of similar workplaces. The amount of soft tissue injuries that have occurred over the last couple of season's is appalling. The players are not fit, the game plan is confusing at best. Yet we get the same drivel after every flogging. Only one person to blame. Take responsibility Adam make changes. It doesn't matter if we lose by 100 or 140 points but I don't want to watch plodders and hacks anymore. ( Far better Footballers than me) But I could do what they are doing on the field at the moment. FFS

R12, 2000 to R12, 2001 we went 3-20.

Going back to when we notched our third most recent win, we’re currently 3-17.
Those dark days I was younger and covered it with drinks and other things

Now I don’t have that luxury.

It flipping hurts man

I blamed the ochre guernsey. New punishment should be to wear that until we win again.

Brisbane lost 12 in a row in 2016. They're going OK. Melbourne went 2-20 54% in 2013. They're going OK. Carlton went 3-33 over 2018/19. Even they are going OK.

We'll bounce back. But man when we suck we suck hard.

100% - same drivel week after week. Just do the right thing and go!

Who do we actually keep going forward? Player turnover is natural whether you are winning flags or spoons. By next year we'll be lucky to have half the 2018 premiership side left on the list.

Off field we've got a chairman, CEO, COO, CFO, footy manager, head coach, assistant and development coaches, recruiting staff etc. We're in the enviable position that we'll still make gazillions despite losing by 100 and no one turning up.

Wouldn't be against a 100% turnover

Simpson is one bloody minded, pig headed SOB and it may well be the character flaw thats the end of him at West Coast.

And before the apologists come to his rescue.
Unapologetic simmo fan but if he loses his job this is the main reason and he's only got himself to blame for it.

The frustrating thing is he was an innovative coach in the first half of his coaching, but since getting the glory it feels like it's been "after tinkering for four years I've found the winning strategy and now I don't need to ever change it".

Woosha was very similar. Innovative when young and then became stale and outdated.

Ok this is by far the worst season I've ever witness in our history. I've had a hard time sitting through games. Use to be a passionate supporter but my interest in the AFL has completely disappeared. Has been going on a downward spiral last few years I'm going to find it hard to get the enjoyment back. It feels like such a boring and stale sport at the moment. Not just our games. I can't even watch other matches anymore. It's a borefest across the whole league.

I'd go on to say AFL is in the worst state of its history aswell. It's a bad product.

I notice not one journalist in Perth has asked Simpson about the possibility of him being sacked or resigning. The WA media just will not do anything to upset the clubs. If this was hapenning at Melbourne club the coach would be getting grilled about the possibility of getting the sack every time they spoke to the media.

If any of the main players such a Nisbett, Simpson or Vozzo are going to be sacked then the earlier we do it the better. It is no good waiting for the end of the year and then having a review and then sacking people. And then the new person coming in has very little time to figure what changes they want to make or people they want to poach from other clubs. The season is an absolute disaster beyond our wildest nightmares. Lets starting making the decisions that have to be made now.

Best timing for me is sacking Simmo in the last 3 rounds (providing we have locked away #1 pick). We need a new coach to have full control BEFORE we go into a pre season.

I would move Nisbett on now. Somebody has to clean this catastrophe up. It is not just the senior coaching gig where decisions have to be made and actions taken. There are other departments that need somebody to figure out what needs to be done and then do it. We need somebody in charge overall. Time for Nisbett to go. I think he was planning to go soon anyway. But i doubt he wants to leave this way and will probably be inclined hang on until things are on more of an upswing and bow out on his own terms then. But we can't afford the luxury of allowing him to go on his own terms. He needs to go now.

If Simpson is to go i would move him on a bit earlier than 3 rounds to go. Realistically you can't start making moves and shaking the trees to see who is available before you do the current coach the courtesy of telling them their services are no longer required. I would say Round 15 would be ideal and if we haven't got number 1 picked locked up we can start cotton wooling our better players for the year and sending them off for their surgery early.

To be honest I’m more interested in seeing change at a board/exec level than in the game day dept, although those would hardly be unfair either.

Too many lifers, it is just so unrealistic that people keep their jobs for 30+ years in a landscape like professional sport or high level business execs. We’ve been so successful that they’ve always had something to point at, but man would I love to get some modernised forward thinking staff into the club, who haven’t worked there since 1986.
How can we make this happen? Members should be able to have sort sort of agency over this.
