I'm sick and tired of the excuses. The club is an embarrassing disgrace and Simmo needed to go in 2021 when he underperformed for the third straight year with the list he had. The recruitment fails and lack of development is extra to that.

Hard to develop when your a kid playing with 3/4 of a team of ammos getting smacked in the WAFL every week

This is a ringing endorsement of the senior coach and club. Fast becoming the unluckiest club in history.
No, it's a ringing 'endorsement' of the rules the WAFL set for the Beagles in regards to players they are able to recruit that they've complained about many times.

Definitely reflects on the state of the club as a whole. The current WAFL setup hasn't worked yet they persist in beating their heads against the wall....while in the mean time wasting another year

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, I'd argue it's not necessarily insanity but insane amounts of stubbornness in our case.

What's the senior coach got to do with the state of the WAFL side?

Apart from the fact you want him gone and you're prepared to blame him for everything.

We need a Nisbett megathread, if there is I’d be happy to advertise the bump!

Just 2021? You joined in May 2018 and you’ve been calling him a s**t coach since June 2018.
Post 2018 you would probably say he was right.

Capitulation in must win games against lesser opponents when we had a good list, whining undisciplined players, general lack of fitness and conditioning and probably the most dispirited bunch that has ever rolled out in a WC jumper (we have been crap before but we have never been this bad and not only the stats show this).

Yep get the draft bottoming out thing, but to say there’s nothing to see here from a coaching perspective is being wilfully blind.

Anyone remember the end for Woosha?

I totally agree with that. I don't even think it can be disputed. It happened. It's a fact.

But if you're sacking him now, you're sacking because your still mad at what he did 2-3 years ago. Over the next 2 years he's going to get caned.

I feel like I'm only one of a few living in an alternative universe and I simply don't get / comprehend the uproar from the weekend. I'm flabbergasted, it doesn't make sense.

My anger was there in 19 & 20.

I'm really not sure what people were expecting this year with half the list gone (or even broken down players that appeared to come good in preseason). There was talk in the off season in here of, if things go right, we could make the eight. That was just idiotic.

I am greatly enjoying the season, I wish there was slightly less injuries to over expose the youth. The silver lining for a few years now is that we have no alternative but to abandon the credits in the back.

I must be watching a different game as I was not disgusted by the weekend. I thought we actually tried but were completely outclassed and monstered by a better and more mature side.

I really don't get it.

Had they not introduced a soft cap, I wonder if we would have had the repeat soft tissue injuries to some of our stars.

It’s a tax aimed at helping rabble suburban clubs at the expense of the sides outside Victoria.

We should be able to spend as much as we want on S&C & recovery and the players deserve that.

As for Simpson, clearly there was a change in gameplan in the first few games we saw it, then half way through the derby after the injuries we got struck by a dead elephant rolling down hill.

Yeh Saturday was shithouse, but how are they supposed to train with 26??
By sacking everyone and trading out the over 30s for second round picks.

Duh.

They can train but the modern game plan requires a running ability, footy IQ, instinct and skill. The Beagles First 18 just dont have it. So many plodders put a hand break on movement as they ponder the next disposal, one fumble or skill error kills it as well.

We really should have won another flag in this window. Match selection didn’t help.

Look at the Bulldogs move the ball cleanly in congestion in 'handball club' mode. They flip it around knowing there's always someone on the move running to receive on the outside so they can break the line.

We can barely string 3 handballs together without panicking and bombing it long for a turnover. That's a product of Simpson's low risk, high possession game plan he ran for 8 years. It's foreign to blokes like Duggan and Cole who've had an entire career of chipping sideways.

He's changed his approach this year and let them play on but it's too late for those blokes who've been in his system for 4 years. He coached the attacking instinct right out of them. Thankfully he won't stuff Hewett, Ginbey etc careers now he's finally changed his mind.
