Not sure what I was expecting but in the Post Match conference, Adam sounded as flat and defeated as his players, not sure he even knows how to get them out of this hole.

Nisbett should probably go

The club has been run poorly in the last couple of years:
  • Large injury list with no changes made (Min Res park surface, Medical room etc)
  • Recent years have seen players not looking in shape - probably adding to the injury crisis.
  • Some of the highest priced tickets/memberships in the comp when they already turn the most profit.
  • Terrible first round drafting when we have had the chance (Venables (wasn’t great before the injury), and Brander, still too early on Chesser)
  • Tim Kelly trade with no vision of the age of the list.
  • Castore jumper deal.
  • Club song is the joke of the competition.

Not much Simpson can do with the points above.

Buck stops with the senior coach, always has and always should.
Trying to deflect to other reasons is typical of us as a club.
Simmo has done a great job for the club, his time has come and gone and there is nothing at all left he has to offer us. Time to move him on, pay him out and pay the AFL the tax.
The environment needs to change and our young crop of players can no longer be exposed to Simmo and his current setup.

nisbett will never leave. no point discussing.

Only thing we can do is delist a bunch, retire a couple and refresh through the draft for the next 3-4 years and hope the new crop are better than the current crop.

No guarantees we aren't down the bottom all 2020s TBH.

Doubt they will knife Simmo. Even when we lose 3 in a row by near 100 as looks extremely likely. Look at all the fun we are having on the journey like young gun Trew's return next week. Remember it's all part of the plan.

The decision not to start rebuilding at the end of 2021 was the beginning of the end for us. Clearly we were out of time in terms of winning things. Yet we still pushed on with the same list more or less.

Oh you mean the first year we identified a need to hit the draft and start getting some youth into the club? Start the rebuild =/= delisting anyone over 30.

Genuinely do not get any arguments about retaining senior players. Who has Shuey, Yeo and Gov held out from getting a game this year? They've barely played 🤣

What does "hit the draft" mean? By that do you mean use our allotted 4 picks at the National draft just like most other clubs do? The simple act of not trading out/trading down your allotted draft picks on a significant scale in exchange players from other clubs is not the definition of a rebuild. It is the normal state of affairs for most clubs in most years. It is not a rebuild. A rebuild means looking to trade players out in order to get more or better picks at the draft. It means taking pain in the present for future gain. Like what Hawthorn did last year. In contrast, the opposite is topping up which is trading out/down picks in exchange for middle aged players so you can have a crack at a flag.

These word games that posters who want to defend the club/Simpson engage in where they come up with new definitions of words like "rebuild" so they can claim we have been rebuilding all along are stupid.

Tossing up whether it would be better to boycott home games, or make some sort of statement there.

There needs to be some message sent that fans aren’t accepting this (apart from the thousands of messages they’ll be getting on Facebook and Twitter).
Would love a below 20k crowd for the pressure build

It means no big 'Tim Kelly-like' trades to try for a quick fix.

You'll probably want to watch Richmond's progress over the next few seasons as an interesting comparison, because they've basically thrown away a couple of draft hands to top up with Taranto/Hopper.

This has to end. Pay him out. **** him off. Call out all the old WCE legends, offer an unpaid rotating coaching gig for the best of them to each coach every week to the end of the year. Let some of the magic and culture of those legends rub off on the next gen and offset Nisbett's contract folly.

The only trades would be to get across a "cheap" 25 y.o or whatever to help the kids.

But don't waste picks on it

We could start with Suma!

Normally I'm glass half full. I'm going glass full up after that. Fully expected to loose that was just horrible.

With injuries it's difficult to drop player's that need dropping like Gaff who just can't play the modern style, it makes io bring back players through the WAFl, it makes it impossible to train.

That being said it was horrible a train wreck.

I don't care who we get back in two weeks time but that Collingwood game lurks as a potential history making game for us ( Not in a good sense)

In regards to Gaff, said it then as well should have been traded at the end of 2021 when he had some currency, look at him now just a paddock trodder. The loyalty to our players has gone too far unfortunately. Geelong made tough calls on Premiership stars and it worked superbly for them.

Good plan, 13 coaches over the next 13 weeks. The youngsters won’t know what’s hit ‘em.
