There have already been a number of posters agreeing with my post. Lecras should have retired years earlier.

A number, hey? Find one that agreed with you. You’ll still be behind the ledger.

What the *? LeCras played a huge part in us winning a premiership.

Still managed over 30 goals in each of his last 2 seasons. You guys would’ve given him a 4 year deal on the back of that down at Cockburn.

I don’t think that Lecras was carried in 2018.

Lecras was great in 2018 until he hurt his wrist mid year. Was still serviceable after but he had a big role in the ten straight which got us top 2.

Lecras finished 14th in the B&F in 2017 and 12th in 2019

Fourth most goals for the club (32) in 2018 and third (also 32) in 2017

So not outstanding finishes by any stretch but it’s an indication he wasn’t carried as you suggest

His mentorship to the likes of Rioli, Ryan and Venables through 2018 was also important for those young forwards

Well at least the "extended leave" outlier puts to bed discussion of sacking him. All that's left now is for a Barnaba type to announce that football results don't matter.

Good move, stupid soft cap needs to be binned.

As I understand it the soft cap was put in place to protect the povo clubs who couldn’t afford big staff groups.

Now we see a number of coaches over the last few years calling for a significant increase to cap. But VFL says no - gotta look after the poorer club but how many senior coaches are going to be sacrificed at their expense?

My take - if you cannot play at the big table f..k off and leave the AFL to the big players.

I have an idea.

I create a thread on here which includes a poll asking posters whether they think Nesbit should resign as CEO immediately or wait until the end of 2024.

I then post screenshots of the poll results on social media and tag the WCE social media accounts.

I think the club needs to know that (I assume) the majority of fans believe the club needs to be rid of his stench sooner rather than later.

Thoughts?

EVERYONE LISTEN UP, HERE'S MY THOUGHTS

All these nuffies on FB and talkback radio crying into their trash WCE merch telling everyone to "leave Simmo alone" and "take 20 players out of any other club and see how they would go" or "Hand back your membership if you can't support the team!!" etc etc are embarassing and missing the point.

Is Simpson responsible? Absolutely. Make no mistake about it he should be taking some responsibility for his role in the role out of our failed game plan, the lack of development of our younger players, the list management for our managed veterans we've kept around too long, the lack of accountability for years for underperforming seniors who phoned it in without being dropped.... he's the head coach, it's literally part of his job.

Personally, as i've said before i feel he lost the players at the bye in 2021, and they are seriously yet to switch back on and start playing/caring for him again.

Is he SOLELY responsible? Absolutely not. No sir.

His saving grace is his contract. Make no mistake about it, there's no getting around that thing. He should really be thanking whatever genius agent of his squeezed the club for the extra year in 2025, because i feel if it was end of 2024 he'd be gone by now.

So there you go, he's ironically untouchable at the moment, so clearly we move onto other underperforming fish we CAN do something about.

Warren Koefed, Mark Finucane, Gavin Bell, Rohan O'Brien, Trevor Nisbett, Luke Webster < and any other coach/staff member who hasn't got the protection of an extended contract to hide behind.

I want sackings, i just don't want to waste time talking about Simpson. Can't change the situation, so leave him and move on.

And bring back Tunbridge to teach the boiz how to tackle FFS.

Simmo still has to go, there is no leaving it alone.

They largely ignore social media. Can’t be taking advice from the nuffies on there. Fitzpatrick said as much in his interview.

The only fans worth listening to are the ones telling you to your face what a great job you’re doing.

They can ignore it if they like, but it’s not that hard to do and it might make a tiny difference.

I know other clubs’ comms staff do monitor BF to some extent, so I don’t think the media and comms plebs would completely disregard it. The board might disregard it, but if you can influence someone at the club, then it could have some sort of flow on effect…wishful thinking i know

All that'll do is give the knobs at the worst ammo to write another garbage article on how the fans are angry
Wont do diddly otherwise.

Likely The West would pick it up and run it on the back page too.

The blame everything on Covid/Long Covid in 2022 excuse that Eddie trotted out as having come from his sources clearly came from within the building at WCE. That is eerily similar to the comments Nisbett was making after our loss to North in Round 1. I have no heard anybody else saying that other than Nisbett. And i don't think anybody else thinks it is plausible or salable other than NIsbett. Eddie and Nisbett are mates. The trotting out of this steaming pile of excrement as an excuse makes me think it was Nisbett himself that Eddie has been speaking to.

A large portion of the squad was hit by COVID at the beginning of last year - that's pretty much a fact. It was an effect of how WA managed our boarders - instead of COVID spreading slowly it came in a big hit. This meant players came back under done. A team can manage that kind of illness with a couple of players, but not half the playing side. It's basically as if they had done no pre-season. It's a reason why our team was unfit last year. The Vic clubs got covid earlier, and spread out.

Have a watch of the "The Long Game" on Apple TV to see how covid wiped out a basketball team fitness wise in the US.

Now that contributes to why we were bad last year - but it doesn't explain the huge number of injuries this year. Pre-season reports is we were "fitter than ever" - then a week or 2 out from the start of the season all hell broke lose, and every week the injury list has gotten longer. That's not "covids fault".

Or the ones that spontaneously break into chorus on overpriced charter flights…

I would suggest that the spread of emotive and irrational commentary on BF would mitigate against any meaningful influence. BF also probably only reflects a minor sub set of members and supporters.

They were references a Facebook group as powerbrokers, the media will lap shit up anywhere just to get content.
