Bottom line, there is nothing in this. All clubs when they know they will get the deal across the line would get that player in there jumper and record a fluff piece then normally release it when its done...unfortunately it was release early. Storm in a tea cup
Agreed. This is ridiculous. This is now compromising our ability to get other shit done when the deal has apparently been 95% there for a week. Given the irritation from GWS management, hard not to think this is a deliberate ploy out of spite.

Just because GWS aren't being strong armed by Collingwood doesn't mean mediation is needed.
Stonewalling is a legitimate negotiation tactic.
Perhaps Collingwood shouldn't further provoke them then?
Has there been anything publicly from Collingwood complaining about this deal not having gone through? All I'm seeing is a lot of angst from supporters. This could be like the Shaw-Adams trade, neither side was in a huge rush there.

100% agree but it comes at a cost if you don't see the trade through.
Calling for mediation at this point, when we have no knowledge of the mechanics of the deal, is just fans jumping at shadows.
I don't get the rush. It's not like this is materially affecting the Aish trade that much. Worst case we end up offering 26 and a future 2nd to Brisbane rather than 28 and future 2nd.

No offence but you're the idiot if you think that.
They'll have enough points to get Hopper, plus next year they're going to have 2 first and 2 second round draft picks, essentially being able to grab any academy player and staying in the first 2 rounds of a draft that is miles ahead of this one.
They've killed it.
Edit: they'll actually have 3 first round draft picks next year.

You do know GWS offered him massive unders? because they knew they would have to lose a young gun this year to free up cap space.
This isn't about losing Treloar, this is about losing Treloar to Collingwood.
