Two top ten picks for Treloar and two picks in the 20s for Aish.

GWS and Brisbane extracted maximum value for their players.
Two top 10 picks for Treloar is about right based on what he's done this season.

Two late 20's picks for Aish is still pretty good imo (1 pick in last years draft and apparently anyone below an early 20's pick was worthless). Don't forget that Aish is a former pick 7 who came 4th in the rising star. Given the draft depth Brisbane probably would have told us to get #$#$%# but they needed the picks for acedmy players.

It's kind of funny to say that as bad as we've been this year, Trelor still made the correct choice in choosing Collingwood over Richmond. There aren't too many other clubs I think we can say that about ;)

Meh, everyone knows that Gubby is a former Collingwood player, a former team manager, a favourite son and one of Eddie's mates. If he was ever going to work in Victoria again it was always going to be for Collingwood. Besides even if Gubby was capable of a dirty trick like that, I highly doubt that Treloar is going to let himself get coerced into going to a club he didn't want to. And, contrary to what Robbo was saying, at the time of the trade the only people who thought Treloar was going to Richmond was Richmond, pretty much everyone in the media had him going to Collingwood.

In short, I doubt any of Treloar, Gubby or Collingwood are stupid enough to tamper with the process knowing the consequences and the gains of doing such.

Well he could've stayed at the Giants...

Caro's write-up was better. Had a summary of the facts instead of Robbo just speculating and quoting himself.
Th fact are very thin. They are basically that Richmond are unhappy they lost their man and apparently now its shady if you ever move to a club that you have done trade business with which would disqualify about half the industry

Reckon you would have to be pretty confident that Treloar is going to be a consistent match winner to give up two top ten picks for. While he racks up the stats, he's not one of the top mids in the comp. Hope he works out for you though - you certainly ponied up in expectation that he would be.

Aish has been garbage for Collingwood this year. Ten possessions today at 40% efficiency is indicative of his return for you. Expect him to be playing VFL again next week, even considering the poor performance of the AFL side.
Not worth one pick in the 20's at the moment, let alone two.

Aish would get a Game at Richmond.

Both Articles where utter Crap and just Trolling by both

Did you actually read Caro's? Given it points out that Treloar made the decision himself, I struggle to see how it upsets you.

By her Pretty Much Hinting that something was Dodgy. She wrote the Same Crap with Clarko to Collingwood Article

Buckley is a proven snakeskin salesman not a manager that pays over the odds.

It's a good thing I'm not a recruiter, because I was hoping we'd take Aish with pick 3 in 2013. As it stands now I wouldn't give up either of the guys we took at picks 18 and 19 for him. He's neither fast or hard enough at the footy, I can't see him making it in the midfield and I think he'll just end up being that outside flanker type of player. I think Brisbane would now be happy to get what they did for him.

I was of the opinion the Treloar trade was a lot to give up but worth it for such a good player. Not sure I'll feel the same way if GWS end up with pick 2 though. Collingwood could have ende up with both a key forward and a good mid with two very high picks.

Yeah its interesting with Aish. I have to say I never rated him that highly because of his lack of body size and pace (and I felt that since he'd been playing adult football since 16 he's probably not a player with a great deal of improvement in him). Having said that apparently our recruiters rated him highly and the reasons they went for Scharenberg before him were (a) he was more of a positional need and (b) they felt there was some chance of Aish slipping to 10. And I rate our recruiters a lot higher than I rate myself so I'm happy enough deferring to them and waiting and seeing.

On Treloar, there were a few posts a while back comparing him with some picks in the draft and I think looking at something like all the pick 10's and all the picks 5's in recent years, you'd take Treloar about 50% of the time. Top 10 picks are hugely overrated, fact is the strike rate for failure, whether it be through injury or not up to senior football, is much higher than expected. I'm pretty happy getting the guaranteed 200 games from Treloar tbh, his form this season has been excellent and has been easily our best player.

I don't how to view the fact GWS might end up with pick 2. You can't really hold it against our traders since I doubt anyone would have expected us to finish below 12th.

I agree with about top 10 draft picks still being a gamble but rarely is a top 3 pick a bust. All good in hindsight though. Truth is you guys ended up with a terrific player in Treloar and the rest I suppose was just a guessing game.

It definitely is, part of the price that comes attached with Treloar is that you are buying certainty.

pies an the whole afl lose out on this trade as gws will have such a high pick they won't have to use there first pick on one of there zone picks, ouch
