Reckon you would have to be pretty confident that Treloar is going to be a consistent match winner to give up two top ten picks for. While he racks up the stats, he's not one of the top mids in the comp. Hope he works out for you though - you certainly ponied up in expectation that he would be.

Aish has been garbage for Collingwood this year. Ten possessions today at 40% efficiency is indicative of his return for you. Expect him to be playing VFL again next week, even considering the poor performance of the AFL side.
Not worth one pick in the 20's at the moment, let alone two.
Guessing you haven't seen our VFL team the cupboard is pretty bare at the moment and we may lose Reid (AC joint) and Broomhead (ankle) from the senior side.

These are the only players who could come in:

Varcoe, Sinclair, Cloke (questions on injury)
Witts, Marsh (questions on match fitness)
Goodyear, Phillips, Wills (1, 0, 0 games respectively)
Macaffer

Shame. Your AFL side is playing badly enough without having to carry Aish the way he is playing.

On Treloar, there were a few posts a while back comparing him with some picks in the draft and I think looking at something like all the pick 10's and all the picks 5's in recent years, you'd take Treloar about 50% of the time. Top 10 picks are hugely overrated, fact is the strike rate for failure, whether it be through injury or not up to senior football, is much higher than expected. I'm pretty happy getting the guaranteed 200 games from Treloar tbh, his form this season has been excellent and has been easily our best player.

I don't how to view the fact GWS might end up with pick 2. You can't really hold it against our traders since I doubt anyone would have expected us to finish below 12th.

Spot On. When the Trade was Done. No could of Seen us go this Far Backwards. We though at worst the Pick GWS would bee around Pick 7-8

pies an the whole afl lose out on this trade as gws will have such a high pick they won't have to use there first pick on one of there zone picks, ouch

Most likely they will trade if for Points so it will go to the Highest Bidder

and Caff looks past it.

Witts and Marsh look like the only one in VFL that could come up to AFL level and make a Difference but they have not played much this season

I wouldn't be surprised if they just trade that pick and downgrade it for more academy points.

Doubt it, not much point when there isn't going to be a bid in the top 3-4 (Pies I have coming 3rd last, Tigers will win a few coming home, and Collingwood have a brutal run home) for their players anyway. Go to the draft with a live pick. You can never get enough elite players, could easily get a Josh Battle type or something like that. GWS have enough points for 2016 anyway.

Well going off Brett Andersons first look of it that might not be the case, long way to go I know but he has

Pick 2 - MaCready (2,517)
Pick 8 - Setterfield (1,551)
Pick 10 - Perryman (1,395)
Pick 15 - Marshall (1,112)
Plus Munch and Lynch also lets say 500 points each (1,000)
Total with 20% discount = 7,375

As it stands GWS have picks 5, 14, 17, 29, 32, 50, 68
That's a total of 5,582.

So if I'm correct if we were to go off the ladder now and how Brett Anderson sees it at the early stage then 1. GWS will need to use that Collingwood pick and 2. Will not have enough points

Now I'm no expert at this so if I've done something wrong then let me know.

Marshall isn't in the GWS academy.

No way will Setterfield and Perryman be picks 8 and 10 IMO, come the end of the year.

McCreadie will not go that early, he's a fine prospect but lets look at the ladder for a second. Fremantle...they need mids, mids and a KPF (Battle a possibility if he has a good Championships). Essendon don't need defenders (Hooker, Hurley, Hartley, Brown), they need forwards or mids, and Richmond don't need defenders really. That is even if Macreadie even goes at 2, it makes very little sense. He's not Weitering good, he's not even Hansen good as a junior. Probably in the 4-8 range. They have the points, remember they receive a 25% discount.

Anderson is a very average journalist most of the times and overrates these kids a lot, has done it for years.

I think Richmond would be pretty keen to get someone in to help Rance with Chaplin probably playing his last year.

Unfortunately Andersons fantasy draft is the only one I can find so far so that's all I have to go off.

Edit: Knightmare has him at 5

5 is the more likely range. 5-10 somewhere in that region. Knightmare is a better judge.

Richmond need genuine elite ball winning mids not a defender.

Are you saying he became a GWS academy player or he is now not a GWS academy player?

Either way, how come?

He was an academy player and is now not an academy player because he's an acceptable token to sate the anti-academy baying. ;)

Less cynically, apparently it's because he's been overseas for a couple of years so they don't think GWS can claim credit for him so the AFL announced he can't be nominated.

No.

The only reason Treloar isn't at the club is becuase HE priced himself out of the club.

We would've been worried at the time. And probably still are. Treloar is a proven star. Hopper's played 1 game.

Going by HIM Low Blowed Him with a way unders contract offer.

It was under what he wanted, no doubt - otherwise he would've signed. But it's hard to argue that he's worth significantly more than Shiel, who he was being offered the same amount as.

Yeah I'm sure they offered him 100k a year. And everyone who stays with a club stays for unders. And Treloar conducted a sophisticated list analysis before choosing the Pies.

GWS made the decision they could afford to lose him; which looks correct and they spread their age profile with two good picks.
