NO! You mean the final outcome is what anyone with the slightest bit of logic could see from a mile away?

Must have been in a shocking position for 2021. I'd imagine they were breaching the cap by $1mil+ without the moves they made this offseason. It says a lot that the pies pushed to have their portion back ended. Must still be very tight the next couple of years.
Treloar has to agree to be back ended too, I can’t imagine he’d be to keen on that. He’s obviously not short of a quid but there’s a big opportunity cost lost each year he doesn’t have that money in his pocket, why should he help out pies again by back ending? Maybe he wasn’t willing to do that so we’ve negotiated with Pies to cover it up front first couple of years.I still dont understand why the two clubs had to agree as to how much gets paid each year.
Think about it. Its two separate contracts and two separate salary caps. So long as Treloar gets his full amount at the end of said contracts whats the big deal?

With Stephenson and Treloar gone, and when Beams/Langdon are no longer on the books, they should easily fit that backended portion of Treloar's contract into the cap without losing anyone else. Just boggles the mind how it got to this state in the first place
Treloar has been pretty generous throughout his career on this matter. Have to wonder just how much money he essentially loses over the course of his career due to inflation thanks to backending constantlyTreloar has to agree to be back ended too, I can’t imagine he’d be to keen on that. Yep, not to mention that in such a massive bull market right now any half decent financial advisor (which any player on 900k would have id imagine) should be able to get him 10% returns with his eyes closed, or property etc. You’re talking in the hundreds of thousands he could be missing out onTreloar has been pretty generous throughout his career on this matter. I think the fact that the pies couldn’t afford their share next year would be more painful for pies fans than the fact that they are paying $1.5m. Kills the hope that they had cleared enough space for a free agent.

I dont agree with this. I think the incompentence is with all parties. This was a rush job and it shouild have never gone through. Its not up to collingwood to pick up the extra money. It is up to all 3 parties to agree to terms and sort it out. It should have been done before the trade got through. This is why it's so incompetent of Collingwood not to have evidence of what the dogs offer was. Collingwood are the one who are obliged to ensure Treloar receives $900k

That you think that the dogs could claim any amount and the Pies would have to pay the rest with out tthe Pies signing an agreement show the lack of logic in your argument.
Can they afford de goey?
Paying 1.5 million to a guy to not play football for Collingwood is rather remarkable
Exactly as everyone assumed on trade night. Clearly Collingwood have tried unsuccessfully to pull a fast one here.Oh dear.
So the Pies are diving straight back into pushing money they can't fit in to the cap out to the back end.
fu** Me.
So much for those posters claiming Treloar was “only” owed $175k x 5 were slightly off the mark.
Collingwood up for the full $1.5 million for a player to play at another club. The mind boggles how they get in that position. Plus the fire sale exodus in desperation toreduce the salary caper rejuvenate the list and get a big name free agent in.
Cerikey who looks after the contracts there, or was Eddie counting on some alternative bean counting.
Do contracts go before the Board or Eddie or the CEO or the AFL for approval? What sort of financial governance does the club have?
Surely someone is culpable. Who?

Ned Guy really thought he could battle with a group of lawyers
So we got rid of Stephenson (600k), Phillips (600k), Dunn, Varcoe, Reid, Wills, Appleby, Scharenberg
That's at least 1.5 mil saved without Treloar.
95% cap is $12,350,000
105% cap is $13,650,000
Difference is $1,300,000 < $1,500,000
So you're saying we are currently $1,500,000 in the red for our salary cap atm. And we're paying around $14,500,000 atm when the maximum any team can pay is $13,650,000.
Right okay . Enjoy losing Bontempelli in FA next year btw, nice salary cap u got there taking Treloar while keeping Dunkley
make 900k a year and get a decent financial advisor and I’m sure he’ll figure it outHow do you get ten percent returns?
