My God, anything that can get us back into the draft after this Judd trade would be fine by me. We can only "develop our own" when there is enough talent to work with in the first place. Carltonians are somehow perpetrating a myth that the number at which a player is selected in the draft is somehow a permanent gauge of innate talent.

How many minutes of game time on average per week was he getting under pagan?

I think that he showed a hell of a lot in 6 weeks under Ratts than he did in the previous 16 weeks under pagan. I think that under Ratts who will get the best out of him this preseason and next year, he is going to really explode on the HFF for us.

How much longer is he under contract for because I think that he signed a new one at the end of last year? thats how long he has to really prove himself... if he doesnt come upto scratch, then there is something wrong with the development staff at the blues.

Heard on SEN today that Hartlett and Russell have attracted interest from team back in their home town. Apparently, Adelaide and Port Adelaide are showing a strong interest in the pair. I reckon we should do this:

Hartlett and Russell to Port for Pick 17 + Brad Symmes

We then give pick 17 to West Coast along with picks 3 and 20 for Judd. That way we keep JK and we gain a backman. OR, if the Coasters are happy to settle for picks 3 + 20 + Josh Kennedy, we could use the pick 17 to get over either Jolly or Haselby.

Your guys thoughts?

not fazed if we keep or lose russell- trading him to adelaide may be a way of securing the judd deal and keeping kennedy

i would prefer to keep hartlett but i can see the benefit in letting him go if we can get the right deal done.

Can really see JR thrive under Ratts. Sweeping across half-forward as I said in another thread rotating with say a Houlihan or a Walker between the wing. Wouldn't like to see him traded at this stage.

And as for Hartlett, I liked what I saw in his limited appearances this year, especially against Freo, so give him one more chance.

Really doubt Port would go for that deal anyway. Keep both.

There's no way we are getting pick 10 for Russell. Maybe Hartlett and Russell though.
