They need somebody who has no ties to Essendon and who will make the tough calls which are well overdue to be made.
They need Barham to stay in charge. He is comedic brilliance.

What would the top 10 selections be for 50+ draft position, or Rookie listing which were not academy/international/Father-Son ?
Cos Hawthorn have dozens over the last decade. Tigers and Dogs too. Even the Pies have been nailing the mid season draft.

Has had 20 years and well over 150 picks but hasn't picked a single player who could be considered a champion or even a top 10 player.

Got kicked in the balls and had a crap draft hand 2014.
The fact is no other list manager has had to make decisions and assess needs based on a list that didn’t play together for two years.
Didn’t throw games and ended up in no man’s land for 3 years with more crap draft picks. 8-13 finishes.
I don’t know why people are expecting miracles…IMO they haven’t been able to get talent in to develop, sure with hindsight shoulda picked this one instead of that one but no other club has had it like Essendon last 8-9 yrs.
Good teams are built over years
Rance was capable of 300
Jack R. 300
Edwards 300
Cotchin maybe 300 next year
Dusty maybe 300 next year

Essendon have had far better draft picks than Geelong and Hawthorn over that time. Swans too, but they have an academy.

Yep, 100% right, a good average footballer who plays 100 games aint a diamond, this bloke has to go, he has seen 5-6 coaches, but always keeps his job.
Drafting 5-6 short people in the midfield also isnt a way to build a list.
The only thing saving him is the possible view at Bombers HQ that they have a good list but it's the coaching letting them down
