There is a reason why cats fans are willing to part with him for a third rounder and its not one missed shot.

Seen him too many times at big moments where he can barely spot up a simple target. Exactly what we don't need more of.

He's a bit of a surplus for them ATM. They've done a good job getting some speedy runners into their midfield that look to have eclipsed Varcoe. For a 3rd rounder I'd take a shot on him.

Yeah I guess he could be MacKay's comedy sidekick

There's some good names in there, but many are too old for what we need. Higgins and Frawley are potential targets, but I feel we'd get neither

Will that be a McGrath-Warne-Langer type gutting of the side when this lot aren't at the Swans anymore?

*crosses fingers
Only 2 of them are playing, so not really.

... but no more COLA (for higher paid players) will impact on them keeping players...

The cupboard is empty. Stewart signing didn't change that anyway BTW.

There's a thread about 2015's free agents here: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/list-of-2015-free-agents.1043079/

I find it concerning that Andy Otten is a restricted free agent, and therefore is one of our higher paid players

Top 10 of 40 players, and his last contract would have been higher based on expected output. He hasn't matched the expectations since, and without FA it's fair to say his next contract would, or at least should, be right back in the middle.

aren't they all restricted 7-10 years ?? going by the list it seems so

No

Would Malceski be worth looking at for the same reason. Insurance for our defenders.

No. You don't pursue free agents to be sitting in the SANFL as insurance, and he's not young enough or good enough compared to what we already have to be worth pursuing, and that's without getting into his knees.

Don't think we have a shortage of HBF/wingmen types - even though he is quality.

I mentions LRT as we may no longer have (a combo of) Graham, Smack, LJ, Rutten, L Thompson, so may need some experienced depth whilst we develop the younger guys in case we get some injuries.
