Stengle actually has 1 on 1 ability as well and pretty good strength for his size.Stengle has far more X factor and showed that with us - just not consistently. Has had a couple of years of maturity and training since he was with us. And results for our forwards in 2020 don’t even count - we were as bad as any side ever

He's never afraid to take someone on and his agility in close is on another level to Rowe, I'd place it in the elite category.
He has strong core and is difficult to tackle so you always see him turning on the tackle to wriggle away and kick a goal.
Rowe needs space and a clear run to get his possessions. When he does get them he has fairly good footy IQ and he uses it fairly well, however the next level of athleticism and speed of AFL has impacted the quality of his delivery. Defenders pay as much respect to Rowe as they do to McHendry and Murphy. Usually when Rowe gets the ball it's when the defender has gambled, run off and left him alone and the ball gets turned over. You never see him win a 1 on 1 contest, in fact I can't recall this ever happening.
The defenders actually stick to Stengle as he's a lot more dangerous around goal and doesn't need space.
Stengle is by far the better player, its not even a question. Id take Stengle over the three stooges every day of the week.
It is a bit pointless as he is now gone.
The thing I'm probably disappointed most about is how he was the younger player in the whole drug bust fiasco, but i feel he copped way more than Brad Crouch. I think from that point on the AFC were looking for excuses to cut him.
