Adelaide defender Billy Frampton is under investigation after an incident during the third quarter of Sunday’s Qualifying Final against Norwood at Adelaide Oval. (Misconduct)

An investigation??..

WTF are they investigating?

He gave the finger to some Norwood flogs in the crowd who were giving him shit..

Fine him and move on.

You watch… This league and their anti-crows agenda will probably try and rub him out for two weeks though!

They are making inquiries into whether he also told them to "sit on it" and to "rotate".
Apparently that attracts an additional penalty

How do young players without games played become players with games played?

By having 4/5 build up games played at a time. Like Port currently have - or Sydney. Teams rarely burn a squad to the ground like we have done. Melbourne and Carlton ages ago but none to the extent we have recently. No one has gone as deep into a list as we have since the expansion teams

Perhaps watch the game and pay attention to the other teams as well and you will start to follow how it generally works

Yes, Dawson and Rankine are not the elite midfielders we need. If, as you claim, we've effectively ended drafting players in the rebuild then it has produced no elite midfield prospects, cannot win a premiership, and has failed.

Thankfully I think you're just making things up.

Rankine may well run through the midfield and Rachele may well be an elite mid.

You said “freeze at our talent level” but we have traded in two elite players

I am not claiming we have effectively ended drafting players - the club stated that earlier this year via Kelly and has followed through with the seemingly successful pursuit of Rankine. Who’s to say next year it’s not JHF or Tom Green or someone else they have identified.

If an elite player is available to us via trade though I think we will keep trading out early picks to get them.

The strategy we have employed is very similar to Carlton and Melbourne - hit the draft for 4 years and start trading in quality young players to fill out the core as required.

Go and do some research

Melbourne traded in their midfield did they?

Carlton traded in Walsh?

No amount of researching is ever going to make this nonsense worthwhile.

Can we start a Go Fund Me to help pay for whatever fine Billy gets.

Also, the SANFL may want to have a scan of Facebook to find the moron boasting about abusing him all season and give him a holiday from SANFL games.

He was just saying hello to the crowd wasn't he?

Maybe the coaches are trying to get standards into the young players before bad standards set in. If the effort isn’t 💯 %, no game. It maybe why Newchurch wasn’t given a game mid season when everyone including me wanted him to play.

I understand the frustration about senior players but I think Tex and Laird led the way, BSmith has been inconsistent but he is the only one down back with experience. Heck even Doedee has only played 71 games. Young players need guidance down back, I think that’s why Dawson is playing there. He is an absolute leader on field and directs players and always makes himself available to receive. He’s be the best recruit in the afl in my eyes

So it’s 100% effort or no game, except if you’re experienced, in which case, you are exempt from the rule? I don’t disagree, we definitely exempt our senior players for poor effort and poor form. ROB a prime example, compare his effort after being dropped and first game back to the rest of his year. No way we demand he bring 100% each week either.

Cerra Hewett Setterfield Kennedy

Hewett being injured cost them finals - second best trade of the year after Dawson

We're really down to arguing that trade it in is the rebuild strategy of a team that's not made finals yet and who drafted their best players?

He’s had a really poor year but obviously they don’t rate Strachan. That’s completely different.

Damn Frampton looked good in that game. Height, agility, marks and great delivery by foot. I get he hasn't proven himself to be able to defend at AFL level, but there's an opportunity there for him as an intercepting defender i reckon. His point of difference to the other intercepting defenders is his attacking mindset and delivery by foot. The way he opens up play with his foot skills is pretty impressive.

he has played exactly like that in every single SANFL game since they moved him back to defense a year and a half ago..

Except for the Port game the previous week when he was slightly off and had two very poor turnovers..

The bloke is a rock in defense for us at SANFL level.. will be sorely missed next year by our SAnFL side if the Pies rumour is true.

Clearly not a key defender, but i kind of think theres value there given everything else he brings to the table and is a floating intercepting defender.

Keen to see how much he improves next year at Collingwood.

And yes, I feel we still need another key defender, preferably someone with actual foot skills as well. I'm picturing a Phil Davis type.

To be fair to the bloke he probably hasnt been given a lot of time to develop the Key defender side of his game.

But I wouldve liked to have tried him as an intercept defender.. but Doedee, and now Worrell, seem to have that position all stitched up currently..

Yeah, a 2m intercept defender, if it works, could be a major asset.
