The Crows need to fight through every contest for a finals spot

The Crows need to fight through every contest for a finals spot

Where and when: Adelaide Oval, Saturday, August 3, 7.10pm ACST
TV and radio: Click here for broadcast guide
What it means for Adelaide:
This is a must-win game for the under-siege Crows who have lost four of their past five, but still remain in the top eight on percentage.
What it means for St Kilda: The Saints are revitalised under interim coach Brett Ratten, winning their past two games since parting ways with Alan Richardson. Another victory would keep their unlikely finals dream alive.

The stat: The Crows have won nine in a row against the Saints since 2012, with an average margin of 53 points. Seven of those nine victories were by 40 or more points. The Saints have an abysmal Adelaide Oval record, losing all nine times they've played at the venue.
The match-up: Daniel Talia v Josh Bruce
Talia, the Crows' best key defender in the Official AFL Player Ratings(158th overall), will get the job on Bruce, the Saints' No.1 key forward (351st overall) who booted four goals in last week's win against Melbourne.

It’s a big week for: Don Pyke
The Crows coach has been under the pump in the wake of last weekend's loss to Carlton. After inviting the players over to his house, Pyke needs his team to stand up and produce a performance they're capable of to get their season back on track.

Big call: The Saints beat the Crows for the first time in eight years to throw the race for eighth spot wide open.
Prediction: Saints by eight points

If Saints win are they still asking for a priority pick? Lol.
Yes. The pick is not based on ladder position it is based on new rules the afl created so that teams who lose players to injury can apply.
In the last 12 months the saints have lost or look like losing kobe Stevens, paddy mccartin , dylan roberton, billy longer and Lewis Pearce to either long term concussion injuries or in robbos case heart issues.
Many or all of them may never play again

Surely it wouldn't be a 1st rounder. Other clubs would revolt. From that list you could argue that only roberton was a walk up best 22. Paddy although he was a no 1 pick hadn't cemented a spot. And the rest really are no more than depth.

Could only see the league giving a late 2nd or maybe priority state league access. Even then it'll be hotly disputed.

My guess would be a end of first rounder if it happens.

If we keep winning though doubt we will get it and I would rather keep winning.

Seems like the club has already made up its mind not to ask. Been quiet recently especially as ur now on 8 wins.

Also, i read robertons interview couple of weeks ago and it seems like he'll be back playing. Mccartin also hasnt given up. If either one of them plays on I guess that puts an end to it.

Entering this season billy longer and Lewis Pearce were fighting for the number 1 ruck spot. Thank God for Rohan Marshall.
Kobe Stevens was a regular in the seniors until his concussion
Dylan Roberton was just about st kildas best player before the heart issues.
Paddy mccartin had never spent long in the seniors because of the frequent concussions. He finally had his body looking right and was expected to play seniors whenever fit this season

I think we're a solid 50/50 in this one, Ratten is moving personnel around a bit during games which is nice for a change and we have a far more attacking edge the last few weeks.

Cant travel except to the GC and lately need a +50pt head start when we go to Adelaide.
Looking forward to it regardless, who ever loses should consider season over.

How many threads will you comment about this and still not get it?? Its not about wins and losses, its about losing personal due to injuries which is clearly outlined in the rules of priority picks if you want to actually read it..?

The saints are cursed ...

Prefer we shed the victim mentality and crack on without one.

The club has done exceptionally well despite these issues, let’s just keep that momentum going.

I think the Saints are a sneaky chance for the upset here. I put $50 on them, so hoping for it. I like the Crows but I think if they miss the finals they'll be more serious about cleaning out the club.

Can't see the Crows dropping this one. They'll be fired up after last week and bringing in a gun like Betts (and hopefully the superstar GIBBS), they'll destroy the Saints.

Will be a good side battle watching the 2 rising gun ruckmen in ROB and Marshall going head to head all day.

Genuine question for Crows supporters - why on earth was Jenkins dropped? He averages 2.5 goals/game against us; and nothwithstanding a poor game against Carlton his form the two weeks before that was good. I just don't understand it.

Adelaide seem like a team with no fight. They had a lot to lose position wise against Carlton, and were in it, but almost looked like giving up. I wonder what else they can bring against the Saints, who are still theoretically in the race.

A very strange selection indeed. Although I'm glad to see Fogarty get a game if the club wanted to send a message to the playing group they should've dropped Tex.
