Just turned on and have seen Frost give away 3 free kicks, none have been paid despite the umpire looking straight at them. WTF?
Very interesting game, he couldn't breathe on an opponent without giving one away in the 1st. Now he do what he likes....

Umpires.....

Hawks clearly up for it but probably a little lucky to be ahead, Melbourne missing a lot of shots. Be interesting to see how the second half goes, I think Melbourne were starting to lift but with all their talls seemingly injured they're struggling to get it through.

Missed the first half of the game, got home to be informed that a commentator said Melbourne just can't find the goal they need, and one comment from a couple of viewers watching was well the umpires will fix that up soon.

So how are the umps going and has our momentum has been soured a bit, by frees, as I'm told, so this is someone else's whinge not mine , from in the lounge room on TV.
Any one?

Maybe the umpiring was really biased in the first quarter but from what I'm watching it doesn't seem that bad? Melbourne possibly getting more of the 50/50's but I think most of their free kicks were there. And there's been missed frees both ways IMO.

This is a fair assessment of the Second half of the 2nd quarter.

Dees haven't lived up to expectations, so far, today. But Hawthorn as a club seem to be treading water. Getting Hartigan seems like a wierd move for someone as shrewd as Alistair. Or is he losing the touch?

Usually a lot cleaner with the ball. Not convinced he isn't playing concussed after a pretty heavy knee to the head in the first quarter. No free of course.
If he didn't blatantly play for a free kick every time he's within 20 metres of the ball, maybe he'd be paid a few more. He's pathetic
