Giants have good intel and know which players to target early on. They dictate matches on their own terms in the recent encounters.

Brisbane not so much.
They're a bit more free-wheeling and go all out which is what Geelong prefer.

On your second point, both teams do have stars but why would having a couple of big name players carrying average sides make them more deserving than a well balanced team?

If you're elite by position or age you're a star. You might be thinking of superstar (top 3 or 4 in the comp). There's plenty of elite talent in this match up.
