I find that a bit hard to believe

I’m disappointed, any team’s fans are when they lose, but I’m not going to tear my hair out over it. We were never expected to get this far, we gave it a great crack, and were beaten by a better side, and dozens of neutrals seem to be celebrating like their own teams have just won a flag

Hi there. A genuine question - what are the rules around advertising tickets here? I have 3 x GF + PF package tickets and will not be using them so want to sell them at the price I paid. I know content like this is not the point of BigFooty but it would be a shame for these tickets to be wasted.

We can but not sure we would against the Lions, you seem to have a pretty even group at the minute. Perhaps Bowes to Ashcroft would be a consideration.
I only ask as gws (plus others throughout the season) showed how effective it can be. I'm just not sure they have run with players or would even try. Scott strikes me as someone who would back his boys in and his system first.

Not sure why there is abit of angst in this thread. I have nothing against Geelong or even the fact they smoked us in 2 prelims. I envy their prolonged success.

We would have used Mullin, O'Connor, Blicavs, Bowes and Atkins in various levels of run with roles this year. The two Irish guys won't play, Blitz has gone back, and I think they will favour H2H against you guys because with Neale carrying an injury, your mids are all at a similiar level so no one stands out as a must tag. If we were to win and play Sydney the next week I'm sure CS would have a plan for Heeney.

Ashcroft dominated the Giants vaunted midfield, he must be salivating at the thought of going up against the Cats "midfield"
Yep, just like Port and Freo's did recently.

bungalow_bill - It maybe wishful thinking but it would be nice know that the Brisbane Lions brains trust come into the Cats vs Lions preliminary final as ill informed, unprepared and uneducated as you.

When are they gonna tap Tomma on the shoulder.

No way can you play him ahead of Shannon Neale.

Needs to put his hand up and step aside.

And you need to have a think for a change. What if Neale or JC are injured? Both even? We don't have anything else even half as good as Hawkins even if he is on his absolute last legs.

I said last week that the Lions v Giants game came down to whether the Lions kicked straight or not. And I was right, we went 4.10 in the first half and were losing, then went 11.5 in the second half to come back and win. It didn't even matter that the Giants were very accurate in the second half (except Daniels. Thanks, Daniels). I have faith in the Lions to get enough shots at goal to win, how well they kick will determine what the result will be.

That's probably the story of the Lions year, a top 2 team when accurate in front of goal, but middle of the pack when they are wayward.

Hopefully the clinical second half isn't something we see again. ;)

Remember to complain if you end up hosting an away GF against Sydney
We arent hosting it unless its in geelong.

Plus there is no such thing as an away or home grand final. Both teams come into grand finals on equal footing.

Sydney may have qualified higher in home and away. But if we make it, we have had more challenging finals by virtue of the fact we played away games. These facts always net out to make grand final opponents equal. There are no higher ranked grand final teams. Home and away rankings are now irrelvant.

And what do Brisbane have? Neale on one leg and a VFL defence apart from Andrews who refused to play Hogan.

How Fagan refused to switch Payne and Andrews fills me with full confidence Fagan is even more hopeless than I thought.
Wow - Starcevich - Wilmot - Zorko all VFL standard ? Be in best ten players at bomber land.

Your reasoning is fascinating 🤣

Neale been pretty effectively blanketed by taggers last few games of the season

Scott doesn't really like to employ a heavy tag which may be more about the absence of a player to do that than a certain ethos.

I'm assuming Neale gets up after the ankle issue

Mark O'Connor has done the job a few times on and off with some decent results, though he seems out of favour at the moment. I assume Geelong's plan will be to man him tightly at the stoppage (you'd be silly not to), but not once the ball is around the ground.

I assume he gets up, it's the same foot complaint he's had for a while.

O’Connor is out for the season with a wrist injury

O'Connor is out for the season anyway.

Mullin could run with someone if we keep him in the side, but I'm not sure if we will.

Atkins and Bowes are two players we have that don't run a hard tag but are more accountable.

Dangerfield, Stewart and Bruhn are the ones who simply hunt the ball around stoppages.
